The Sox win again with a walkoff homer from David Ortiz...man I haven't been able to say that for a while. Tim Wakefield pitched 7 strong innings in his first start of the DL.

Look out AL...it's all coming together all of a sudden...

Weclome back, Joe Saunders.

:techman:

The Angels have a nice 4 game home series against the A's starting today. Hopefully we can put some distance between us and the Rangers.

I was surprised to see they are 2.5 up in the WC race.

My girlfriend surprised me for my birthday by taking my to a Braves game last night. Field level seats... and I was so pissed off at the Braves yesterday, but this game was so much fun. They beat the Padres 9-1. Even though I had honestly given up on them yesterday, ALL the teams ahead of them lost, so they might actually be back in the mix. Here we go again. They're like a bad train wreck. I can't stop watching.
My hot dog carrier broke while I was there and I spilled mustard and ketchup all down the front of my baby blue shirt. It was bad. I had to wear the girlfriend's super small Alabama jacket. I would have rather looked like an idiot than a klutz.

I thought they had the scoreboard wrong when they said Nick Green pitched for the Red Sox. WTF.

Gee, I guess Mark Reynolds and Justin Upton ARE the future core of the D-Backs! The day they both come back to the lineup, they smoke the Giants 11-0!

^ Make that 1.5. ;)

And also make that *two* pitchers named Nick Green...

You were saying?;)

Ah, back to 2.5 over Texas, and more importantly, to me at least, 4.5 over the Rays, who, somewhat strangely, traded Kazmir to the Angels today. While I get it as a cost cutting measure, it seems strange to do it in the middle of a playoff race.

The Tigers managed to beat the Rays today, and Kazmir gets traded right after the game is over. Hopefully that makes the rest of the series against Tampa a little bit easier. The Twins won and moved into second place in the division. I'm still more than a little worried about the Twins making a move for the AL Central crown...

^Good stuff.

I was busy watching a Pats preseason game. I'm in a baseball funk since my team is woefully out of it.

Cliff Lee met the Braves today! :techman:

3.5 out of the Wild Card

Tim Hudson makes his first start in practically forever on Monday.

Barry Zito rocked it out tonight. What a performance and that is just really nice to see. With all the bashing this guy gets, and the backlash because he signed a bad contract (Not his fault by the way), it's great to see him do so well. Tonight was the best performance he had as a Giant.
