Only three teams in the NL have scored fewer runs than the Giants (it used to be only the Padres, so you're moving in the right direction) - but it looks like drumming up offense has been a struggle more or less all year for you guys.
ETA: ESPN has an issue with their standings it looks like - they currently have Colorado leading the NL West by 7 games. Oops.
Yeah pretty much but there were signs of greatness from the offense just before the all star break. I still say they need a big bat in the line up and Dunn, Adam LaRoche, Freddy Sanchez, or Aubry Huff have been the names floating around. Just hate to give up any top prospects to get them.
Yeah, that was rough. The Giants let so many scoring opportunities slip through their fingers. I lost count of how many times they had guys in scoring position but then popped out to end the inning. Pretty damn frustrating.
I never thought I'd say this, but they should have left Wilson in.
The Braves and the Giants are in the same boat. Pitching that can run over anybody, but no power in the lineup. I'm still in shock that the Braves went out and got Ryan Church, even though I realized they were mostly just getting rid of Francoeur. I would really like to see someone who hits a million home runs come to Atlanta (not Barry Bonds.)
I am so sick and tired of ESPN and MLB.com being all about the teams in the northeast. There are other teams out there.... HELLO!!!

ESPN caters to big market teams. The Dodgers, Red Sox, and Yankees get the bulk of baseball coverage on ESPN. Just watch Sportscenter and see who leads off most shows...
If you based your baseball knowledge solely off of what you see on ESPN, you probably would be unaware that Kansas City even has a baseball team. And thats with the coverage they've gotten due to Greinke...
That's why I love the MLB Network coverage of teams with MLB Tonight and Quick Pitch. It's a lot more comprehensive and the hosts are great to listen to.
They will show the home run "touch 'em all" segment on Baseball tonight and leave out teams all the time. I swear that if the Red Sox were 0-140 they would still be picked to win the division.

Well I notice that too. They say they will touch them all....they lie...they lie.
And while I do understand people saying that ESPN and such is biased, and I agree, they can be, but there is one thing that the teams mentioned above, and the teams that people say that ESPN is biased towards, is that in recent years, they are the playoff teams, and have been the most successful. I can understand that if they only have an hour long program in Baseball tonight, or a 20 min segment on SportsCenter, that they will hit the more successful teams in the league. Im sorry, but there is no news to show or report if the KC Royals do what they do best lately, which is lose.
That being said, that's why I also watch the MLB network, because they do show all the teams equally, and thats a refreshing change of pace.

I got to watch Quick Pitch on MLB last night. Full coverage of ALL of the games. It was awesome.

So, Penny continues to be inconsistent and Smoltz looks like he's only good for ~80 pitches before he implodes mightily. I like the Beckett-Lester-Wakefield troika; I'd just like to see it rounded out with a young, healthy pitcher (ahem, Buchholz).
It's the second half, and there's no wiggle room for playing around with so-so pitching. The Yankees are having some pitcher injuries of their own, so now's a good chance to expand the AL East lead instead of blowing it.
