Major League Baseball 2009

He's probably referring to that A-Rod homer. Linky

The ball hit a video camera which was sticking out into the field of play. That must have been why the umps ruled it a home run. So don't go blaming the Yankees for that. Questionable call by the umps, maybe, but hey, their word is final.

It was sadly a home run, however A-Fraud hit it so he is a cheater anyways. :p

Oh, my good word! What a great game it was last night!

Those words fail me today as that leave me speechless to witness the best game I've had for since of those few last world series, but I'm sure that Phillies fans are accusing that Yankees are cheating, because of the ball was hitting on the camera, but if hadn't the camera been in the way, it would be home run, end of story!

It's so good that Yankees are catching up, not that I'm complaining! :D Um, guys, I think rain delay did do Yankees a favor, more like it's their big advantage to win the game last night, what do you think?

^ It does ensure that the last game will be played in Yankee Stadium, which I do think works in our favor.

As for the camera: Big deal. A-Rod just hit the ball out there like any player would. If anyone was in the wrong, it was the umpires. They made the call, not A-Rod.

Yes, Laser Beam, it works in our favor after all. A-Rod got very good eyes when he realized that it was home run, the umpires made the right call to make the final decision for home run.

So, who's going to playing the game four tonight?

Well, no, it wouldn't have been out if it wasn't for the camera, but in the end, that doesn't matter, the score was too great of a gap for it to have changed things. Unfortunately, the Cole Hamels of this game wasn't the Cole Hamels of the past (which is a shame because it's entirely mental, he started the game pitching much better than Petite).

Tonight, the pressure is on the Phillies bats. Blanton is certainly not Sabathia, but if he can hold on and our offense picks up, we have a shot. Otherwise, we certainly don't want to go down 3-1.

Any of you New Yorkers reading this - they're opening up Yankee Stadium for free so that anyone can walk in and watch the live feed from Citizens Bank Park. Linky

(just like they did for the ALCS away games)

Are you disagreeing with me on that advanced fact that it wouldn't have been out if the camera hadn't been in the way? Sorry, dude, ball said it otherwise, to me, looking like ball itself went direct toward that line, but A-Rod got good eyes when he realized that it was home run after all.

Uh, Yankees will try to take the lead 3-1 tonight, but of course, we certainly don't want to have that, we need to have really good fighting, send Yankees back to their home game. Is Blanton going to be batting up tonight? Just like he did last year to helping his team to win World Series.

^ Blanton's the starting pitcher for the Phils tonight. Link

As for A-Rod's homer - it was the umpires who ruled it that way, they have a standing order that any ball that hits the camera is a home run. A-Rod stopped at second, and Tex at third. They didn't consider it a home run until the umps said so.

Thought that Blanton would do pitcher and batting up tonight at the same time. He's really good pitcher, but is it good idea to send him up there as starting pitcher tonight?

Well, glad to know that we have the reply in the MLB, umps making the right call after checking the reply very carefully, but didn't Phillies challenge this that it's not home run, just because the ball hit on the camera?

If someone can translate this, I'd appreciate it, so I can respond.

EDIT: BTW, I understand the rule is if it hits the camera, it's a HR. I'm not arguing with that. I was responding to the statement that (after translation) said that, if the camera wasn't in the way, it would still have been a home run. That was really my only area of dispute. Looking forward to tonight. I'll either be watching it at work or at home, but I'm not missing this game.

Probably not. AFAIK, the camera was protruding out into the field of play, that's why a ball hitting it would qualify as a homer. If the ball had hit the part of the wall where the camera would have been attached, I'm sure it'd have been foul.

Perhaps in the future they'll put more thought behind where they place cameras

Perhaps so!

He is batting because NL rules require the pitcher to bat...
