Majel Barrett Roddenberry Has Died

I usually don't get too affected when celebrities die, unless its some major tragedy or simply out of the blue. But this is just like....Wow.

God bless her, and prayerfully, all her family and loved ones, too.

Truly a shame. I loved her role as Lwaxana Troi, and it's a wonderful, fitting tribute that J.J. asked her to voice the computer again, and that this will be her last performance.

Wow, I didn't know she was sick.

AFAIK, she was diagnosed with leukemia six months ago.

A friend of mine saw her last year at a con and said she didn't look too good, so while this doesn't come as a complete surprise to me, I'm still sort of shocked.

She was an amazing ambassador for the franchise.

We had Majel as a guest at three Toronto Trek/Polaris conventions over the years. You would think that in all that time, I would have had a chance to meet her and to tell her how much Star Trek has meant to me throughout my life, but I never did.

I met her about 12-15 years ago at a convention. I even got her autograph. This is so sad At least we get to hear her last "computer voice" in Star Trek next year...
