At the 2006 Vegas convention I got to ask her while she was on stage, that even though she was enjoying her retirement would she do the computer voice for the new movie if J.J. Abrams asked her to. She said yes and the room erupted with applause. I also got to talk to her in the dealers room. A customer at my store in New Jersey said he was her former assistant and I just wanted to confirm that with her. She was really very nice and will be missed.
I may have to watch "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" soon.
This is very sad, I have met her a couple times and know Rod very well, man this sucks, right before christmas too! I know she has had health problems the past few years but i had thought she was getting better. My heart goes out to Rod for his loss and for all the Star trek fans who admired her work, she will be deeply missed by us all.
Incredibly sad news. She was a huge part of Trek through it's whole run and will be sorely missed. I'm sure the upcoming movie will include a dedication, now.
What an awful shock. I had read the other day about her doing the computer voice for the new movie. I had no clue there was anything wrong with her. I'll miss that face and that voice.
She will be missed. A lot. She was always one of my favorite convention guests. It was always fun seeing her share the Stage with Marina Sirtis, as there was a truly genuine feeling mother/daughter vibe between them.
