Yeah that I do like. Endless shots of the hero ship make for a dull sequence. At least Voyager did some different backgrounds, instead of just "SPACE".
I hope it's just actor names, I found Trek's nerdtastic tendency to give everyone's character rank and full name rather irritating.
Agreed. Say what you will about the Enterprise opening. At least it didn’t have the name and rank. We don’t need that stuff.

One thing I hope they do is leave all the production and other credits for the END TITLES. I got sick of Berman Trek's tendency to list every f**king line/supervising/executive producer at the start. Near the end of the series run (6th and 7th seasons) you'd sometimes have credit in the lower third of the screen going 10 minutes into the episode.

I hate it. The musical theme is generic as can be not counting the Alex Courage theme, and the visuals don't fit in with the other series at all. It's also awkward they did the show's logo and then the Discovery fly by and then hold on....nothing.
I just find phaser and communicator artwork so meaningless and boring for an intro.

That ending is almost certainly where the episode's writer(s) and director credits will appear ala HBO and Netflix shows.
That's for the "Created by..." card.
They decided that "Committee" was anticlimactic.

2) I'm pretty sure nothing will be replaced with a dissolve into the next scene........
That's my absolute favourite thing about it, it's the first time I haven't seen Berman Trek poking its nose around every corner.

Except for the fact that that Communicator isn't even the Discovery model, lmao.
Not at all. Like absolutely not at all. Bond intros feel artistic and often abstract. The Discovery intro is pretty clear in what it depicts.
ETA: And of course boring music.
Specifically, the ship flying through the opening flower, reminded me of the bullet from the gun sequences in your traditional bond titles.
And the other 1:25 mins?
I guess I'm just not seeing it. The comparison feels like a sacrilege and you might lose your British citizenship over that post.
