Luther Series 2

Yeah and I still think there were a few loose ends (mainly around the woman copper) Certainly I watched the second series but not the first (actually saw the first in FOPP yesterday for a tenner but resisted...sure it'll get slightly cheaper soon  )

Amazon are selling a box set of both series for £17.99... Doesn't appear there's a blu-ray release though, which is a shame.

They certainly upped the scripting and storylines for the second outing. Much better all round, except for the production which was excellent in both series. No wonder the ratings were up. I think Idris has stopped posting on FB now, but people can still go and 'like' it to up the numbers.

Also, they mentioned on the Luther Facebook page a few days ago that a 3rd series has been commissioned, so, WOO! :D

Didn't I mention that already? I thought I had cos Deckerd got all excited and posted just the word "Luther" on her facebook.

I dunno, but I saw the last post before yours was on July 8th, which was quite a while ago now so I figured it was worth posting here :p

DVR’d and watched the new “Luther” episode.

Ruth Wilson (as Alice Morgan) should’ve been nominated for an Emmy, as Idris Elba was. Can’t help but like her despite her malignant narcissism.

Not soon enough, if ask me.

BBCA is re-running Luther, and I caught a few minutes of it. DAMN, this is an awesome show. I can't wait to see more.

Bah! Too far away! Also, less Alice? I don't like that either!

A Luther feature film sounds interesting, but I'm not sure how I like a series 3 cliffhanger leading into said film. How accessible will the film be for new viewers? And ultimately what purpose would a feature film serve where the highly-focused episodes missed out on?

I just loved Luther. I thought series 1 was better than series 2 but they were still both awesome.

The problem is it aired on BBCAmerica, and not everyone gets that station, and if they do, it's just one station among the hundreds they receive. I think that those who did watch it LOVED it. Most Americans, however, would probably know him from The Wire or The Office, rather than Luther.

Luther was the first time I noticed him, and it made me a fan for life. :adore:

I really enjoyed the Alice/Luther interactions of season 1. Season 2 had less of that, but since they seem to be on friendly terms now I guess that's to be expected.

Did anyone ever watch Wire in the Blood? I truly loved that show as well and so wished they would have continued the season. Seems all the good shows get cancelled.

I first saw him in Ultraviolet. He was gorge in that too.
