Lt.Kyle

Hell if you go by broadcast order, the third aired episode of TOS really throws one for a visual loop.

The third aired episode was Where No Man Has Gone Before. The first two were The Man Trap followed by Charlie X.

As someone who has very recently experienced Broadcast Order Trek with a bunch of folks new to the show, WNMHGB was not particularly jarring since many of us had "seen it at Tricon '66" (or our recreation thereof) before the season began. We knew it was a different animal.

Seeing Uhura in gold in "Corbomite Manuever", not to mention "DeFLECtors, full inTENsitEEE" ("No reason to raise your voice, Mr. Bailey...") Spock, a third of the way into the season, was more odd. :)

It helps to watch over the airwaves in black and white on a small screen,

*raises hand slowly...*

(we generally watch it upstairs on the "big" TV-- a 29" CRT, which would have been enormous at the time, but at least once, I watched it downstairs on my 6" black and white. That was "Court Martial". I could still tell Kirk and Finney were stunt doubles...)

Are the same people saying it's a different Kyle awaiting a transporter malfunction episode that'll turn April into a white, British guy?

What about adoption?

Same parents driving their child into the same direction, but they picked baby 1 instead of baby b from the orphanitarium?

You're confusing Lt. Kyle with Lt.Leslie (or maybe Lt. Galloway).
Whoops...well, I already apologized once so here it is again.
Forgive me. I'm a draftee.

Relevant MASH clip.

It’s not your place to say what the showrunners “need” to do.

You are a consumer, nothing more. Like or do not like; watch or do not watch; those things are indeed up to you. But “need”? That is WAY beyond your pay grade.
I think it would be really, really, nice there was refresher course on the definition of the word "need" :brickwall:

You're Guying again,

There was a Boston Legal where an 8 year old black kid sued his teacher because he wasn't cast as Abraham Lincoln in the school pageant. One lawyer is saying that the white kid (who won the audition) looks the part, and the other lawyer counters "So let me get this straight, you got a child in the third grade who is almost 200 years old, a lawyer, and 6 foot 4 inches tall? Wow, it's no wonder you had to cast him as the President. I apologize."

In the past, white people hoarded all the good parts, and then they put shoe polish on their faces and played Othello too.

Its not the past anymore.

Sometimes.
