Paramount never said this, people made it up as the reasoning since other streaming services had written off shows. If it was written off it would be 100% gone, they wouldn't be releasing blurays or spending money to finish it up and shop it around.Paramount+ did the HBO Max thing of cancelling and removing Prodigy in order to get a tax write-off.
Presumably they want to shop both seasons as a package. It's hard to sell customer on a second season if you have to watch the first on a competing service. The one thing that bugs me right now is that Prodigy doesn't seem to be available for streaming. It doesn't have its own block in the Star Trek section and I haven't been able to search for it.
Yeah, it was. If they're unsuccessful shopping it around, I think it's pretty likely to end up back on Paramount+. If the strike drags on Paramount may want something to show after Discovery ends to keep Trek fans subscribed.Ah - that makes sense. Still pisses me off though. It really was a good show...
Damn.
Thank you, BTW. I wish I'd clicked this thread a few days ago. I'm in New Zealand and there's no sign of S4. Can't find anything related to the new season's broadcast one way or the other.
I think it's fair to assume NZ Prime is in the same boat as Dutch (and Polish) Prime.
Doesn't strike me as particularly encouraging for the show if Paramount can't be arsed with international anymore.
Mike's not sure if they'll get a Season 6

This really should come as no surprise. Especially in the current environment there is no promise of another season.Mike's not sure if they'll get a Season 6
