Lost In Space Series Reboot In Works

When I watched this show as a 7 year old, it was about 3 hot girls, an old lady and other stuff.

Now it's about two children I'm not allowed to make eyecontact with, jail bait I have to stay at least 80 feet from, an old lady, and other stuff.

Well, I did think the girl was cute in that remake but she was two years older than me so it wasn't weird.

Matt LeBlack is currently in a wonderfully meta britcom where he plays an exaggerated version of himself starring in an awful sitcom... In one episode they were explaining the new special effects in the latest episode to Matt, who says "For fucks sake, I was in Lost in Space, I know what CGI is!"

Who was the third hot girl?

Debbie of course.
So we can add pets to the restraining order?

Judy was supposed to be over 20. So you and Maj. West aren't going to get a visit from Chris Hansen.

I didn't see any posts mentioned it, but:
Hulu is now showing the entire original series. Along with Irwin Allen's other series, "Land of the Giants."

As for the William Hurt revival and the John Woo revival, I didn't care for either of them. However, as time goes on, older properties tend to be given the 'reboot eye' so I'm curious on what an update - albeit well-written - will be like.

Time Tunnel was awesome.

You know except for the time that broccoli aliens tried to invade cowboy times, or whenever religion popped up and they took it seriously, but that's still a solid 75 percent of the series that was very watchable.

By the way.. Jimmy Fucking Darren.

^^
I have yet to see a full episode of "Time Tunnel," the original as well as the pilot for a proposed revival a few years back.

Te only things I want from the revival are these...

Retain the silhouette of the original Jupiter II. Sure, make it bigger to contain all the decks and storage areas for things like the space pod, the Chariot and other equpment that can be unloaded. Shoot, make it as big as a Star Destroyer, just keep that iconic symmetry along with the spinning "fusion core" mounted underneath.

Keep the overall look to "the Robot". Yeah, fiddle with the details to bring it up to date. Give it interchangeable "manipulators" (I'll admit the claws were impractical). Give it status indicators that reflect newer technologies like LEDs instead of oversized filament bulbs. Allow it to swap out different motive modules best suited for the kind of surface it will need to traverse (slim treads within the ship, larger treads or wheel assemblies for alien terrain). Maybe redesign the "greeblies" within the bubble to depict a variety of sensory components (makes more sense to house the "brain" safely within the central casing). And while it makes no practical sense, they gotta' keep the neon "light organ". Or, it it just has to go, replace it with a some sort of video display that when not otherwise used to present data, it "defaults" to a flashing mode when the Robot speaks. Hey, have a character program that function both as a "point of reference"and as kitschy homage to whatever "vintage" genre films exist in the LiS universe.

Anything else, meh, go wild. Pull a Galactica and gender swap various characters. Depict a gay marriage. Have one of the family turn out to be a "sleeper agent" and serve the Smith role. Really, it won't phase me.

Just keep the symmetry of the Jupiter and the Robot. That's all I ask.

Sincerely,

Bill

It's a great property--it should be rebooted. I look forward to it. I also liked the William Hurt version--recognizing that it coulda been better.
