Oh, sorry for misreading your post. Kirsten Beyer is probably the author who dealt most with the Tamarian species and language, so maybe if such a book was written by her and featured a "from the author of FULL CIRCLE [or Protectors or any other of her great Voyager novels] and the creative team of STAR TREK DISCOVERY" tag line it might sell better.
This. More language and names. How about a book done in the style of a baby name book? With names, meanings, famous personages to have these names, variants, etc.
I like the Tom Clancy Mission ops series novels . I like spies and intrigue being explored in the Star trek books.
How about an anthology that tells the as-of-yet untold reasons why various Starfleet general orders were established?
In From History's Shadow, I think the chapter where Ms Foster and her sonic pen (Great reference btw) first appeared and wiped Wainwrights recent memory (which seems to be a recurring theme), it was established that MJ-12 had at least twelve (IIRC) encounters with aliens of which we knew like 5. Maybe an anthology about the others would be interesting.
I'd liked to see more Astronomy in the books talking about the new exo planets that have been recently discovered. I liked to see more space exploration in the books.
Have they ever done a pure Dixon Hill story? I've haven't read it, but I do know A Hard Rain was a Dixon Hill holodeck story, so that doesn't count, I'm talking about something not involving Picard or any other future elements. This ties into another idea I had, a series of in-universe books mentioned in the shows, like Chicago Mobs of the Twenties, Hotel Royale, Anslem, ect.
I was honestly really hoping to see a Chicago Mobs book published by Pocket in 1992; not necessarily even with any Trek branding, a straight-forward book with that title. Missed opportunity, I think.
A series of stories based on this one question; what would the Federation be like if someone other than the Vulcans had made first contact with Cochrane? Like so :http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/business-universe.282737/
I'd like to see more in-universe autobiographies. I'm halfway through Kirk's and am really enjoying it.
I'd like to see a Deep Space Nine novel with Captain Ben Sisko and his Starship crew being featured in an entire novel . I miss seeing Ben Sisko having a major storyline in the Ds9 books.
