The only episode of any Star Trek series I have ever seen up until 90 minutes ago was "Space Seed." So I'm trying to become just a little more cultured with the various ST television series.
With that being said, I just finished the pilot episode of Star Trek: Voyager - "Caretaker."
I have a great deal of mixed feelings on this episode. There are a few characters whom I do like (Neelix, The Doctor & Tuvok), some in which I can't really decide/nor care to decide (Janeway, Kim) and some who are just downright bad actors playing characters who could potentially be interesting (Paris).
The episode surely picked up once the actual plot started, and I find the premise of the television show quite interesting. I'm worried, however, that the substandard acting and occasionally flat dialogue could ruin it for me. I'll give Voyager a few more episodes before I make a decision to continue it or not.
In the mean time, I really got to get my hands on season one of TNG or DS9.....
