Star Trek Discovery "Brother", "New Eden", and "Point of Light".
I noted that the planet New Eden had several rings, and that they were not orbiting in the same plane.
Presumably several small moons had been destroyed and turned into rings composed of many particles.
That must have been a very recent event on a geological or astronomical time scale. For one thing, rings tend to last for only tens or hundreds of millions of years. For another, gravitational interactions with the planet would pull all the ring particles into orbits in the same plane, a plane above the planets equator, in a much shorter time. For another thing, radioactive ring particles were mentioned and their potential disastrous effect on the planet were mentioned.. If the ring particles became radioactive during the event that created the rings, their radioactivity would quickly decay to harmless levels on a geological or astronomical time scale.
Thus it is possible that the rings of New Eden were created during the event that brought the New Eden people there 200 years earlier.
