List Only! Last Star Trek Episode You Watched

"Realm of Fear", TNG

This episode raises all sorts of questions about the transporter that are probably best ignored, but I do appreciate what is probably Reg Barclay's best outing. My favourite thing about this episode? Nobody treats Reg like an idiot or makes fun of him, and his concerns are taken seriously by his colleagues. That was this show maturing from his earliest appearances.

"Yesterday's Enterprise". That's the Enterprise-D with a darker lighting scheme done right. Generations, please take notes. The way the sets are lit would not look out of place on Discovery. Pretty good.

I prefer this version of the D and this version of Picard.

The Yar/Castillo romance is one of the highlights. Like I've said elsewhere, Yar reminds me of a member of my family. So it's good to see Yar in a non-first season episode, even if it's an alternate version. And Garrett is also strong-willed. But the best part of the episode comes at the end when the Klingons demand Picard's surrender and he says, "That'll be the day" and goes down fighting.

The other TNG episodes I'm working my way through in the rewatch before Picard are okay, but an episode like this? This is my kind of Star Trek.

TNG: Thine Own Self, streamed on Netflix.

Data loses his memory and wanders into a Renaissance faire, and Troi graduates from command school and makes full commander after about three hours of training.

Watched Voyager's Endgame earlier today, ending the first watch of the series for me.
Now, I'll join my girlfriend, as she watched Deep Space Nine, then we'll jump for Enterprise together.

Continued with the TNG re-watch for Picard. This time I went on a full-out binge to pick up the pace.

The episodes I watched:
64. "The Offspring"
65. "Sins of the Father"
66. "Allegiance"
67. "Captain's Holiday"
69. "Hollow Pursuits"

Hopefully I'll get up to "The Best of Both Worlds" this week. Then two-and-a-half months and four seasons to go.

I actually enjoyed the Data part of the story. The Troi part? No so much.

VOY - Parallax

This was a weird choice for episode 2, tech the tech and realign the emitters of this particle and that particle to tech some more tech. Stereotypical Voyager perhaps, but coming off the pilot this felt like a mediocre mid season episode. The B'Elanna story is alright but too easily resolved, symptomatic of writing off the Marquis conflict way too quickly.

VOY - Time and Again

Enjoyed this one, quite a clever little time travel story and Kes filled the role of Guinan in Yesterday's Enterprise. I didn't see the ending coming. Much stronger than the preceding episode.
