The concept of ending a TV series with a finale episode that wraps everything up was still new at the time, was The Fugitive the first to have one?

I’m imagining an All Good Things type bookend-finale for TOS, where the Enterprise runs into Balok again, and boy is he angry..he is going to destroy the Federation, and Kirk and crew have just 50 minutes to stop him.

True. Plenty of series back then never got a true ending, even when it was warranted. I mean take the "Invaders" for example. They end up pretty much where they started with David Vincent still having only a handful of friends believing his story. The funny thing is that the Invaders had like a hundred of opportunities to kill him throughout the series and they never took them (allegedly not to alert the authorities) but when you think of all the plans that he thwarted and all the facilities that he destroyed. I mean they even tried brainwashing him at some point when they could have just vaporized him and be done with it!!!

So Data was able to give Lal, as he states, "more realisitic hair and eyes" than he has. One wonders why he can't do the same for himself. I suppose he just prefers what he possesses but if he was able to actually create another Soong type android, he certainly could upgrade parts of himself, if he chose to.
