List Only! Last Star Trek Episode You Watched

Let That Be Your Last Battlefield (TOS).

I'm glad MeTV is airing episodes of Star Trek but the cuts in this one were glaring.

They cut 6-1/2 minutes out of each episode. It's painfully noticeable sometimes. The original uncut episode from 1969 ran 50 minutes including opening and closing credits but MeTV repeats are only 43 minutes 30 seconds long.

The Magicks of Megas-Tu (TAS)

I'd never made it a point to hunt this down and watch it just based on the description, and even reading ADF's adaptation years ago didn't do anything for me, but watching this episode last night I was really, actually moved.

Humanity being put on trial seems to be a favorite schtick of Roddenberry, as is dealing with questions of God, so maybe it was the animated format, where you're not really expecting much but then it hits you out of the blue. Mankind has been a savage race, hateful and hurtful, but we're getting better. Kirk's sympathy for the devil (natch!) is probably now one my absolute Trek high points.

The preceding should be read with the understanding that I had also been drinking when I watched the episode.

Message in a Bottle - VOY

I'd never seen it before. I never got into VOY, but always loved Robert Picardo's Doctor character. It was fun! And even Andy Dick managed to not be so annoying. :)

It might literally be the only thing I've ever seen Dick in besides The Hebrew Hammer where he didn't annoy the living crap out of me. Good episode. A little over the top in spots, but it's hard to keep a story about two bickering medical holograms subtle.

Gravity - VOY

Another episode I'd never seen. I'm taking a different tack with Voyager by ignoring its premise and taking it as a straight-up continuation of TNG.

I liked this episode. Production values are great and the story heartwarming.

I watched DS9's Rivals, hoping in would get me in the mood to continue my rewatching of the entire series.
Sadly, it didn't. :(

I recommended it because its also in the second season.. not sure but it aired close to Rivals, but there is actual character development and a look at the history of how certain characters met. I remember being amazed by it when it first aired. I still am.

but it also displays a type of story you can't tell on TNG
