List Only! Last Star Trek Episode You Watched

TOS - Where No Man Has Gone Before.

Amazing they aired that near the middle of season 1, seemingly at random, despite the less-refined bridge set, different outfits, Spock acting a bit more shouty than usual, new crew out of the blue... (yes, all to save money, as given the money they gambled on the failed 1964 pilot they had to cut corners somewhere. Hence WNMHGB being thrown in as well as "The Cage" being (very cleverly re)used into another episode.

"Where No Man Has Gone before" was the third episode to be broadcast in the USA, and thus far closer to the beginning than to the middle of season 1.

"The Inner Light" (TNG)

I can safely say it's the Oscar Bait Movie of Star Trek episodes. Make this three hours, throw in Tom Hanks or Leonardo DiCaprio or Meryl Streep, and you have it all.

Funny thing about that one (i.e., "The Inner Light"): people either love it or hate it.

I feel like a deviant then. I neither love it nor hate it. I like it and I respect what they were trying to do, plus the ending just gets you, it really does... but when I feel like watching an episode -- of any of the series -- it's not exactly going to be one of my go-to choices.

What kind of monster doesn't like The Inner Light?!

I just watched Through the Looking Glass. Terrible. Unfortunately, the Mirror Universe episodes (after the first one) are uniformly awful.

There's a whole thread debating the assertion that the probe mind-raped Picard.

I was (and am) in opposition to that assertion, but I can certainly understand it.

lol.

Trek fans probably debate their families at every Christmas dinner about whether George Bailey suffered from PTSD after his near death experience.

My favorite aspect of Inner Light is that it gives Picard the friends and family he never had because of his commitment to Starfleet. He gets to have his cake and eat it too.

"Emissary" (DS9)

I worked that into the middle of my re-watch of TNG S6. DS9 is an outgrowth of TNG and I want to see how much of DS9 spills into TNG given that Micheal Piller was a showrunner on both during the '92-'93 Season.

I could go into a longer and more elaborate post but I'll save that for elsewhere and elsewhen.

"In the Hands of the Prophets" to complete S1

I'm doing a full DS9 rewatch. Haven't done that for 9 years. In fact, I haven't watched DS9 at all since then. It's amazing how good it is.
