Yesterday I rewatched, among some other TNG episodes, "Pen Pals". I had seen it only one time before and remembered that I had liked it, but damn, I didn't remember that it's THAT great actually. The conflict between helping and following the Prime Directive and the lesson Data learns about friendship are very well worked out. It's definitely a really beautiful episode from the show's early times.
