Is the entire drive and it's landscape along with Sammy (Davis Jr I suppose) preprogramed into the program or does the computer just access the equivalent fo 24th Century Google Earth? Along with biographical data on Sammy to create the trip on the fly?

It always amazes me when a obviously advanced being like the Caretaker can't convey complete or sufficient information in complete sentences only to resort to jumbled and incoherent rambling for dramatic purposes.

Why couldn't they just rig a tri-cobalt device aboard the array to go off right after they get sent back home? (I know. then there's no series)
Hate how it takes just a few minutes to climb a two kilometer high stairs.

Funny as at the end when the group are heading to the shuttlepod. On a world with no intelligent lifeforms. The grass has visibly been mowed.
