List of Trek questions that keep us up at night

I never meant to start an argument about whether it's real or not @Mr. Laser Beam , @UnknownSample . :brickwall:

For a better parallel, how about people who are sensitive to heavy perfumes vs those who are not?

It's called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) or Environmental Illness (EI), and artificial perfumes in products are the classic first thing one reacts to. It happens to plenty of people who would never have accepted such a thing before acquiring it. I've had an especially severe case of this since 1983.

I think that what the poster meant was that "blue guy" had his genitals just blowing in the wind, uncovered. Humans do not wander around with our sex-parts constantly exposed to the environment, especially on a frozen wasteland.

To answer the original question. Maybe it was some kind of show of dominance? "Look at how well endowed I am for my species. Feel emasculated with your stubby, dangly bits, Hew Mon."
Love it. Sold. :hugegrin::techman:

Perhaps the phage is a genetically engineered disease created by some species the Vidians once offended.

I think about Star Trek a lot and sometime ask myself some questions about something that I don't remember much and I would get on the computer and look around on the Memory Alpha wikia site.

I have always wondered what the origin of the borg was.

There was a novel trilogy called Destiny released in 2009 that deals with the beginning and end of the Borg. Really good books.
Time-displaced Canadian MACOs and a brain-damaged superbeing.

If television was a fad that didn't last long into the 21st century, what did people watch?

If there was no money, what were they playing poker for?

Who makes all the tech that Starfleet uses? Is it just Starfleet itself or are there independent corporations or weapons manufacturers still around designing things?

There are references on some Okudagrams to manufacturing companies in regards to starship construction and repair, though they are mostly in-jokes/pop-culture references (Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems manufactures impulse engines and they're a reference to Buckaroo Banzai for example).

In "Mudd's Women" Kirk tells Ben Childress that he's authorized to pay an equitable price for their dilithium crystals. So did the TOS Enterprise carry around a lot of cash? Did it have a vault?
