LEGO Enterprise rumors

I have a feeling that the Trek Lego leaks may in fact be the details of one of the losing contest entries. That would explain it - they're both 90s shows.
But there wasn’t a Trek set in that contest.

If anything it lends credence to the idea that Lego is working on Star Trek already, as normally you would expect something Star Trek in a contest like that.

It would sell. That’s reason enough to do it. I feel quite strongly that this is a likely true product but we will see.

The idle speculation usually leads towards disappointment, complaining or fan annoyance. Ok, maybe I'm ahead of the curve on the complaint departmen
From what I have seen around the internet, this situation you describe is not unusual for posts and video content about Lego products that are announcement before the final set has been designed. In some cases it may have been better for Lego to keep it a secret until the final set comes out, instead of saying "There will be a set about X," and having it not look like someones expectations. The good news is that Lego builds are very easy to modify and therefore the perceived "problems" can be fixed. That's what makes Lego different and special.

I mean...

People could build their own Enterprise too.

They could, and many people have. Fans sometimes have different priorities than the designers, resulting in some pretty big differences between an official set and fan model.

The big one is probably the durability of the constructed model. Lego wants to make sure that they can be played with, whereas fans sometimes go for the most accurate look in the final product. Both are important.

Got my first BB sets! Fun to build (except repetitive things like another SF stand, another half of the ship that I just built... :D) and they look great :luvlove:

I hope this is fake, because it looks awful.

It sounds fine. You’ve got a whole bunch of characters there.

Personally I’d prefer it if Lego did playsets as opposed to ships. So for the D, a Bridge set and seperate sets for sickbay, Ten Forward etc.

I can but dream.

Or do it on Minecraft.

Hhhmmm

Minecraft…

Do it on… Minecraft.

Hm.

Hm.

Where’s my Switch?

Again, sorry for posting the wrong link, here is a video for those who prefer that...

I wouldn't say ugly. But it's pretty difficult to get perfect round, flowing shapes like the E-D in Lego.
Star Wars works better because a lot of the designs are more harsh and angular.
