IDW's "Star Trek" #6 (with Data and Spot on the alternate cover) and "Star Trek: Defiant" #2 (with Lore).
Also filling the gap made by the recent low publishing rate from Gallery Books, I spotted this ambitious self-published fanfic in trade paperback form, "Star Trek: The Challenge" by David Miraglia. (Online reviews of this novel have not been kind.) I was surprised to see it so closely cloning current licensed Trek books. When people tried this in the 1980s, and again in the 1990s, with fanfic material the then-Viacom juggernaut came down heavily on perpetrators.

New this past week: IDW's "Deep Space Nine: The Dog of War" #2 of the comic mini-series; Issue #7 of "Star Trek Explorer" magazine from Titan; and the omnibus reprint of IDW's "Star Trek: Lower Decks".

IDW did another "Free Comic Book Day" issue this year, "Prelude to Day of Blood". It also contains an excerpt from "Star Trek: Lower Decks" #1 (which had received its omnibus reprint this month). Posed with my Kruge bobblehead "Headknocker' and a Klingon "Geeki Tiki" mug.
Had a lucky find out at a supermarket. It had a 2nd hand books section for charity near the entrance. Against the odds of what usually is there I came across this for just 50p, TNG: Dark Mirror
I have heard its a good book, never got round to . Unexpected find but looking forward to finally reading it.

Big week for Trek merchandise: a crossover comics event, "Star Trek Annual", from IDW; three trade paperback omnibuses of IDW reprints ("Picard: Stargazer", "The Mirror War" and "Warriors of the Mirror War"); soundtrack LPs for Season Three of "Picard" (Stephen Barton & Frederik Weidmann) and Season Three of "Star Trek: Discovery" (Jeff Russo); and Playmates' "Star Trek: Prodigy" action figures.

Last week's goodies are "The Life and Death of Rising Star Steve Ihnat" by Linda Alexander (Bear Manor Media, 2018) biography in hardcover; and from IDW: "Star Trek: Godshock, Volume One" the hardcover omnibus; and two variant covers on "Star Trek: Day of Blood" #1 crossover event, one of which has "Lower Decks" artwork featuring Shaxs.

"The Life and Death of Rising Star Steve Ihnat" is of excellent quality for a print-on-demand item, delivered from a local Amazon affiliate after it was ordered online only days earlier. I am a bit disappointed that "Whom Gods Destroy" is barely mentioned: only three pages (pp 87-89). There is an observation that Ihnat found Shatner very unhappy in his situation. Also a brief mention that a friend of Ihnat's, Steve Lodge, was working casually in the Desilu/Paramount wardrobe department the week that "Whom Gods Destroy" was being filmed.

Just arrived: the third "Star Trek: Prodigy" hardcover, "Escape Route" (Simon Spotlight, 2023) by Cassandra Rose Clarke; and "All the Monoliths in the Universe" (Hemelein, 2023), a new omnibus edited by Joe Monson, collecting the parody comic strips of Michael C. Goodwin.

I first noticed Goodwin's work in the 70s paperback, “Star Toons”, edited by Joan Winston. His own collections of the strips were various small-press publications: “Who Was That Monolith I Saw You With?”, “My Stars!”, “Son of Monolith”, and the zine-format, “The Starry Night” (which contained "Tripping the Light Fantastic"). In later years, he published the eBook, "My Stars & Galaxies!: A Comic Cosmic Journey". (He recently announced "My Stars & Galaxies Too!: The Return of the Megalith", currently in the planning stages.)
"All the Monoliths in the Universe" is actually print-on-demand. I ordered it from Amazon Australia last night and it arrived the next afternoon!

New from IDW: "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Scorpius Run" Issue #1 mini-series and "Star Trek" ongoing Issue #11, which is Part 3 of the "Day of Blood" crossover. Also arrived is a fantasy novel, "The Return of King Lillian" (Pilmsthistle & Co, 2019) by Suzie Plakson, remembered as Star Trek numerous guest aliens: Dr Selar, K'Ehleyr, Lady Q and Tarah.

New arrivals for this week: "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: The Making of the Classic Film" (Titan, 2023) by John Tenuto & Maria Jose Tenuto; a fan-produced parody(?) comic "Kobayashi Maru" #1 (Death Ray Graphics, 2020) by Jason Yungbluth; the long-sought-after "Spectre" novelization (Bantam, 1979) by Robert Weverka of the Sam Peeples & Gene Roddenberry telemovie; and two different titles and cover art for Laura Bank's autobiography from Empowerment Media, 2022 ("The Wrath of Blonde: The Making of 'Star Trek II'" and "Close Encounters with Captain Kirk: The Making of 'The Wrath of Khan'"). Text inside is identical except for cover credits.

I remember being interested in that when I first heard about it, but after the creator’s recent behaviour here… no. Not going to give my money to someone like that.

I do want to pick that one up, but will have to wait for Amazon to discount it, or I can get a promotional offer from Chapters/Indigo. $66 is a little on the pricey side.
Alas, I had already ordered it before he imploded in several threads over the next few days. The comic does seem to carry similar sentiments.
That's certainly fair; if I had been a bit quicker, I probably would have been in the same boat. (For once, my procrastination pays off!
