Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
Wow.
And also - how much do you normally hear folks get critical of the crux of the third act being in the promotion for a film? Here, 90% of the promotion has been THE hinge on which the third act turns and it being so prominently advertised actually accentuates the viewing experience. Because - once Tom's on the bike it feels like an eternity of tension before he gets to the top of the hill. And everything which is happening to everyone else in the meantime just builds and builds and builds the tension so, so well. You're almost willing him to get on with it so the tension can break! It wouldn't work so well if they hadn't said "look at this cliff jump" so much - and then they really make you wait for it. In the best way. It is brilliantly deft.

Agree with you. I actually felt this movie lived up to the hype, and there was lots of it due to the fact they were promoting the heck out of it with the stunt-making. And so many of the stunts had me wondering how they'd done it. Really fun movie. I was grinning all the way through it.

On Monday or Tuesday I started Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and I was enjoying it, but after about 1/2 an hour our internet crashed, which it does from time to time, and kicked me out of Paramount+. At the time I was feeling lazy and didn't sign back in and was gonna finish it later, but after that I started the last episodes of Farscape and Peacekeeper Wars and got hooked. I haven't decided if I'm gonna work on Peacekeeper Wars or finish up Rise of the Beasts tomrrow.

Gattlopp.

Dutch for "Gauntlet"

Jumanji rip off, as a drinking game.

It was good.

I finished up Transformers: Rise of the Beasts back on either Tuesday or Wednesday. I really enjoyed it. How consistent is this with the Michael Bay movies? After I found out that Unicron was the bad I read up on him on Wikipedia, and it sounds like this version is inconsistent with The Last Knight.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3.

Somewhat underwhelming and way too long. Last hour was good enough to rescue it, but the first 90 minutes needed trimming.

Scrapper
A 12 year old girl lives alone after her young mother has died. Fooling social services that she lives with a non-existent uncle, she provides for herself as a bicycle thief. She’s caught off guard when her long absent father turns up.

Incredible film.

I saw the movie Predestination (Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook) tonight. It was a crazy but interesting movie.
