Last movie you saw?

Avatar: The Way of Water over on D+ the last two evenings.... Second viewing for me, looks GLORIOUS in 4K. Sound was very good too. Surround Sound system was VERY happy... ;) :) :D

I am rewatching all the Bond Movies. My husband has gotten me looking at the opening where Bond kills the guy with the gun at the opening of the movies. To see which guy playing Bond has the best look for doing it. I haven't decided yet.

The classic "gun barrel sequence." I should've put Mrs. Silvercrest onto this link already.

Connery's gun barrel sequence in the first few movies is really stilted and awkward-looking, including his "stroll". For "Thunderball" they must've realized how ridiculous it looked and re-shot it for a more naturalistic set of moves. Lazenby uniquely drops to one knee when he fires. Moore has several versions that use a two-handed firing stance, the first time the sequence really starts looking good.

It goes from there.

Ah. Before "Thunderball", I did wonder why Connery looked stockier, but didn't question it.

As to the wobbly knee: I didn't say it was "good".

Just finished watching Frozen II on Disney+ about an hour ago, and my mom and I saw Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at the theater on Monday. Both are great movies.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I’ve never played the game, but the movie was still a fun fantasy adventure even for those who weren’t familiar with the world.

But the person who I watched it with is very much into D&D, so was able to identify all the creatures and explain the Easter eggs and such! :)

I watched Waterworld on Tubi yesterday, it was pretty good, nothing amazing, but a fun Mad Max on the water style post-apocalyptic action movie.

Continuing my Mission Impossible rewatch with Ghost Protocol. I actually lowered my opinion on this movie than originally. Still good but I think I liked 3 better.

It's a legit good movie and just got a negative reputation attached to it due to its budget and not great box office. Dennis Hopper is fantastic in it. That said, you have to let go of certain practical considerations when watching it.

Jerry & Marge Go Large. I liked it. It had some interesting things to say about relationships and getting older and actually doing something with your life. I wouldn't tell anyone to go out their way to watch it but I did like it and Cranston and Bening were great. There are some nods to Breaking Bad in the film too including the casting of Michael McKean who wasn't in Breaking Bad but played Saul's brother in Better Call Saul.
