Last movie you saw?

It's a legit good movie and just got a negative reputation attached to it due to its budget and not great box office. Dennis Hopper is fantastic in it. That said, you have to let go of certain practical considerations when watching it.
Yeah, the sad thing is, according to Wikipedia it was actually one of the top grossing movies of the year, but I'm assuming because of the budget, that wasn't enough for it to be a success.

Just rewatched Mission Impossible - Rouge Nation. Still great.

Just have Fallout to go and then Dead Reckoning is released in a few weeks.

I watched Ant-Man "Quantamania" last night and enjoyed it. It didn't have the same feel of the previous two movies, which I loved, but it had some of it (family ties), and I loved the weird and wild word of the Quantum Realm. That said, hovering over the whole movie as I watched was the looming criminal charges (or whatever comes of it) over Majors, would put a damper on my enthusiasm. I was looking forward to him as Kang and now that doesn't seem likely. That said, the very concept of Variants gives Feige and crew ample opportunity to swap him out for another actor if they must.

Saw M:I 7 tonight. This has become the most consistently good franchise. Atwell's a great addition (and, I suspect, set-up as a new lead should Cruise retire from the role of Ethan Hunt).

I was thinking the same thing about Hayley Atwell's character when I saw it this morning.
Overall I really enjoyed it, but I did have one issue and it was the same one I had with Fallout, there was one car chase that was starting to feel a little to long. I was starting to wish they would move on already just before it ended.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
Wow.
And also - how much do you normally hear folks get critical of the crux of the third act being in the promotion for a film? Here, 90% of the promotion has been THE hinge on which the third act turns and it being so prominently advertised actually accentuates the viewing experience. Because - once Tom's on the bike it feels like an eternity of tension before he gets to the top of the hill. And everything which is happening to everyone else in the meantime just builds and builds and builds the tension so, so well. You're almost willing him to get on with it so the tension can break! It wouldn't work so well if they hadn't said "look at this cliff jump" so much - and then they really make you wait for it. In the best way. It is brilliantly deft.

Also, is it just me or, in this film are there more sections, minute-for-minute which hark back to the series where it is more focused on head to heads rather than shooty shooty drivey drivey bang bang jump sequences? I'm not sure I remember there being this many in any of the others. At least not quite so well done.

Indiana Jones & The Dial of Destiny this past Sunday. Fun romp; much popcorn consumed .... 8/10

Just finished watching Pompeii on Hulu a little while ago, and I really enjoyed it. I'll admit, it was a little campy at times, but I like campy.
A few weeks ago debated between watching this and the Dwayne Johnson Hercules movie and went with Hercules. I had gone with Hercules, because at the time I was in the mood for a big monsters and magic fantasy movie, and Hercules had better reviews, but I ended up being not liking Hercules that much, I definitely liked Pompeii a lot more.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3

Very enjoyable movie. Went to some really dark places but brought it all to a very satisfying conclusion. May have shed a tear or two... 9/10

rewatching some parts of the Never Sleep Again documentary for DVD.

rewatching the Elm Street 2, Elm Street 5 and New Nightmare segments of the documentary

Town Without Pity (1961)
Starring Kirk Douglas.

"Four American soldiers stationed near a German village face death in the rape of a local girl, and are defended by outside counsel Major Steve Garrett."

Kind of similar to 'Paths of Glory' in that Kirk Douglas is defending soldiers in a court room.
It's good but not brilliant for a few reasons, worth a watch at the very least.
