Last movie you saw?

Just watched "Jack Reacher" on Paramount... I never really envisioned Jack Reacher as looking much like Tom Cruise, but it was a pretty good movie. I like the way Lee Child sneaked in a cameo appearance.

Isn't the character in the novels supposed to be about 6'5" and 250 lbs of muscle? And blond?
Cruise doesn't have that physical intimidation factor from sheer size.

Found this online: "Reacher is described in Lee's books as being a 250-pound blond man standing at 6ft 5in tall, with hands the size of dinner plates or Thanksgiving turkeys, and knuckles like walnuts."

At five-eight or so, and maybe 180 lbs soaking wet, and dark hair... Tom Cruise doesn't exactly meet the description.

I'm watching the 2019 reboot at the moment.

I know I'm supposed to, but I don't hate it.
I kinda liked it, too. Maybe the hate came mostly from it not being a third del Toro movie?! Or I just have bad taste in movies. Maybe that.

Rewatched the 2016 version of The Magnificent Seven the other day. Still really good.
For some reason I misremembered all seven dying at the end, in contrast to the original. Don't know where that idea came from.

I continued by Miyazaki re/watch yesterday with Princess Mononoke, which is one of my favorite movies of his. This was the third time I've watched it, and the first time I watched it probably over a decade ago, I actually hated it. At the time, I had never seen anime before, and wasn't really into this kind of fantasy. But then more recently I gave it another second go, and I absolutely loved it. I think I probably loved it even more this time. Just an amazing movie, with a great story and spectacular animation.

Currently watching "Clockstoppers", because it's free and because it was directed by Trek's own Jonathan Frakes.

The first one was pretty good, the second one was very disappointing. Too bad could have been a cool filmseries

Phone Booth (2002) meeeeh. The concept was neat and I appreciate the limited locale, but it wasn't enough to keep me intrigued for the duration. Sutherland's voice emanating from the phone was prob the best aspect.

Got out to see Black Widow 3D at the Cinemark Lufkin last night before work. It was their last 3D show, and I had the theater to myself.

Regarding the Hellboy reboot, there were parts of it I liked, but a lot of it that I didn't. And I really wish there had been a third Ron Perlman film instead.

Wow, I don't even know what the last movie I saw was. I need to watch a movie! I have been rewatching many old shows though like, MacGyver, Magnum P.I,Simon & Simon, And NCIS Los Angeles. I enjoy getting first seasons on shows to see how they got their start and how they changed as the show went on.

I saw the HBO adaptation of "Fahrenheit 451" from a few years ago. I can see why it didn't get great critic or audience reviews. There was something lacking; a sense of immediacy or relevance?. Anyway, I started dozing off toward the end.

I went to the cinema yesterday, for the first time in about 2 years, and I saw M. Night Shyamalan ‘Old’. It was OK, I gave it 7/10.

this morning very early like midnite this morning - sleepless in seattle == after watching the cary grant movie love affair to remember --- the day before yesterday--

I've been on the fence about going to see Old, because of the mixed reviews. Maybe I'll wait until it's on one of the streaming services.

The last film I watched was Dog Day Afternoon. I'd give 9/10 in total. This film is based on a real bank robbery attempt, that was going to take only 15 minutes, but it turned in to a 14-hour hostage situation. The film is definitely not for everybody- it is long and sometimes feels like it's dragging along, but that's how the real deal was. I am a huge fan of Al Pacino's performance in this, he practiclly carried the whole film. This movie was also a stepping stone in queer cinema, which still is a huge part of the movie's legacy today.
