Last movie you saw?

The new Haloloween movie.
What a bad ending.
For someone who has prepared herself for so long Laurie did really bad.
She had so many weapons and opportunities, she could have shot Michael a hundred times

Watched The First Man last night via Amazon. Decent movie but nothing earth shattering. The way the movie portrayed Neil Armstrong, he was a dick to his wife and kids. Hell of a pilot, but flawed in many areas. Overall, rate this one a B+

An old classic: Wages Of Fear with Yves Montand

They talk about it in Vox Sola an episode of Enterprise.

Just watched Polar on Netflix. Came across as something out of a comic or manga. Ubber violent, lots of bloody mayhem and fairly high T&A content. Grade this one a C+, only for Madds involvement

I just watched the doc Fyre on Netflix. Holy god, what is wrong with some people? Just get an honest job, Billy!

Went to AMC Lufkin yesterday, watched Green Book, Serenity & The Favourite for my three free movies through my Stubs membership.

Green Book was the best of the three, I enjoyed the buddy road trip quite a bit.

Serenity was a terrible freakin' movie with a really good cast of actors, but the twist to it just ruined the whole damn thing.

I enjoyed The Favourite a bit more than I expected to, since I'm not usually a fan of period pieces.

Saw The Equalizer 2 for the first time this morning, followed by the 2018 Halloween.

You know what happens when you shoot Michael Meyers? Nothing. That's why she didn't waste ammo trying to shoot him to death. All her preparations left Michael in a situation he couldn't just get up and walk away from. Bravo.

The ending was fine.

Forgot to mention seeing "Glass" on Saturday.

The Mummy (2018?) on HBO this evening. Passed on this initially due to the poor reviews it received at the time. Thus, I went into it tonight with minimal expectations. It was better than I expected and I was fairly entertained. The story was lacking, but the direction was pretty good, the acting was decent enough and VFX were pretty good. All in all, not sure why it was panned as much as it was. I give it a B- to B.

Rewatched "Jurassic World 2015". Funny the things I didn't notice the first time that seems so blatantly wrong now!
1) They send TWELVE people to capture with tasers and "nonlethal rifles" a beast that must weigh like two dozens of tons!! that's two tons per person!! how do they expect to bring it back? other than the tasers and the pseudo guns they also have a net that so stupidly inadequate that it barely covers the mouth of the beast!!! Plus the gate to the cage has just been broken by the dino!!!
2) They fire like a hundred bullets at the beast and it barely affects it!! Then the "hero" continues to fire at the beast like a few bullets more would make any difference!
3) The guy with the bazooka waits till the beast is almost out of reach to fire at it, whereas they should all have been armed with bazookas instead of their stupid ineffective guns!!!
4) The beast is not only "very intelligent" it even knows things that she would have no way of knowing. Like the fact that only thermal detection would be used inside the cage, or that the implant that's under its skin is meant to show its position. The fact that the big building is an aviary and that the flying monsters could be used as missiles against the copter.

There are many many other things that don't add up but these are damning enough.

A Sound of Thunder. Never got around to seeing it until two days ago. Interesting concept, but the execution nearly put me to sleep. Enjoyed the Ray Bradbury short story in my youth, but this film version was quite the yawner....
