Even in this one, there's zero proof Kurztman killed anything.there are probley dozens of alternate earths in the multiverse where kurtzman did not kill legacy
There was also an okay novel. There are probably a bunch more where Kurtzman never convinced Patrick Stewart to return and Star Trek: Legacy only exists in fan brains as a mediocre video game.
Don't you get it? Kurtzman is Evil and hates Trek fandom. He's sitting in his Evil Lair, petting a cat and saying things like "so the fandom want's Legacy? Well they're going to get Starfleet Academy instead! MWA-HA-HA-HA!!!"Even in this one, there's zero proof Kurztman killed anything.

I will take that game and its near unplayable level of clunk over the hypothetical show. Hell I'd play the game before ever watching Picard season 3 againThere are probably a bunch more where Kurtzman never convinced Patrick Stewart to return and Star Trek: Legacy only exists in fan brains as a mediocre video game.

Unlikely. The "Right-wing Trumpers" in charge want to make money more than anything. Trek has always leaned left and will continue to lean left, as that's generally where the fanbase sits. The new suits aren't going to upset that apple cart any more than they did with South Park. They've already hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write a film, which is hardly what anyone would call a pair of "right-wing Trumpers."now that right wing trumpers own paramount and the star trek universe
its most likely that they get right wing trumpers to make there verison of star trek tv shows and star trek movies
I'm pretty sure it never got greenlit because Paramount wants to chase the "new audience" and a show literally called Legacy isn't going to appeal to that.
Wasn't that the pitch for Strange New Worlds?Plus, if your show idea is little more than, "new Enterprise with a higher letter suffix commanded by the most popular character from a previous series," then there wasn't much of an idea to begin with.
Wasn't that the pitch for Strange New Worlds?
No.Wasn't that the pitch for Strange New Worlds?
He knew how well people liked Spock though!Goldsman was eying a Pike series set on the Enterprise (No bloody A, B. C or D.) from the day he walked into DISCO's offices. Probably had no idea how well Mount's Pike would be received.
People on a spaceship doing Star Trek stuff expanding on characters either only glimpsed briefly or severely lacking in development. Not only an opportunity to create something new but to at the same time add some much needed development and context to the franchise's origins which lacks it due to 60s sensibilities and because it wasn't designed to be the originator of a vast sprawling franchise. He knew how well people liked Spock though!
Though my point is, the concept behind Strange New Worlds is 'people on a spaceship doing Star Trek stuff'. There's no other idea there, and none was needed.

Because they can't produce 26 episodes a year of one show any more.So if that is what SNW is about, then why would we need yet another show about a crew on an Enterprise doing spaceship stuff? That would be needlessly redundant.
