Klingon Downhill Skiing!!!

Well...why not?

You have to think that there is some sort of "olympic" sport event in Star Trek's future. I bet they even allow 'enemy' governments, like the Romulans and others, compete. Could you imagine some of the sports they might include? Or, just as well, watching aliens compete in more familar events like Beach Volleyball or curling???

Worf seems very attentive, so I could easily see him in the downhill ski races.

Weight lifting? The Gorn's might be pretty tough to beat.

What sports could you invision, new ones too, and who do you see being "Olympic" sport heroes?

I could totally see Klingons loving that "new" sport of Ski-Cross (this was the first Winter Olympics where medals were awarded in it).

Four skiers on the run at once, lots of jumps and obstacles to maneuver around, plus contact... VERY "Klingon-ish", imo.

Klingon skiing would combine the downhill with that show "The Wall", and everyone would have to do the entire slope, and come in to the end to find a big brick wall with a little odd shaped hole they have to thread through to finish.

I wonder if they'd have different species competing in different classes of the same sport (Vulcans and Romulans in one, Klingons and Jem'Hadar in another, Humans and Cardassians in another) or they'd have everyone compete against each other and factor in certain equations of time or weight for the final placings. Or adjust the gravity in the room to match certain planets? Nah, there could be reasons for differences in physical ability that don't have to do with gravity.

Also, Klingons wouldn't last as long as humans in the cold, so would they need different uniforms? A thick-skinned muscly Gorn would pulverize a human boxer or wrestler, but could they even float in the swimming pool or maneuver a snowboard?

Yeah, would it be fair to hold events like that if some species had to compete in separate classes? Or could it be done similar to boxing and wrestling?

(I suspect you're right that Cardassians might end up in the same class as humans--except MAYBE in aquatic events, though I'm not 100% sure on that one.)
