Karl Urban -- blond or brunet?

Re: Riddick, I'm gonna have to get used to the hair. Ewwwie.

I think I might be the only one here who loves that hair :)
I think his hair style makes him look futuristically hot in that movie. :bolian:

Glad there's someone else here! The hair, the armour and the moody stare... I love it all!

I'm not gonna say the rest isn't hot; those yummy pillow lips of his are still in fine form in this photo. I'll wait till I see the movie this weekend to pass final judgement on the hair.

If they're all as mindless as "Malibu Bikini Shop," pretty soon your brain will melt and you won't care anyway. :guffaw:
I think they actually are not, judging from fan comments at his IMDb message board. He's got stacks of fans, too; and they seem to adore him. It sounds like he's in some good productions; some people sounded disgruntled he didn't get an oscar for playing JFK.

From the descriptions I've seen, it looks like he's had a nice mix of mindless/intelligent movies. I just ordered "Republic of Love" and "Erotica", which both have good reviews. Actually, I think at some point, he must have had an agent who suggested that anything he could do that involved not wearing a shirt would be good for his career.

Not to derail anything, but if you want some pics to help you with a Bruce viewing spree:

Yeah, I'm seriously turned on by the man.

But shouldn't we contemplate Capt. Pike without his shirt? Actually as many of the guys without shirts as possible?

Although, it would be more true to canon if they just had their shirts ripped to shreds.

Mmm... :adore:

Sorry, what? ;)

I think he's got sexier as he's got older - so any recent shirtless pics would certainly be appreciated!

Well, Republic of Love is from 2003.

Look through the picspam closely (I know it's a chore:devil:). There's quite a few that are of a fairly recent vintage. I like him older myself. And he does have a nice butt.

We are mortal, after all. It can't be helped.

Those links are a great reference pages; I'm going to bookmark them. Thanks a bunch!

I need to make shirtless and love-scene screen caps from the Treacherous Beauties DVD, but at the moment I am hamstrung by technical difficulties.

Yesterday "Firehouse Dog" played on HBO-Family, and it's very cute. There is an awful lot of Bruce in it, which is great. He plays a fire captain and gets athletic, hanging off ladders and such. His character is a single dad.

From stuff I've read, Bruce is a talented athlete. In Treacherous Beauties, he rode horseback all over the movie and looked very comfortable.

He needs to get together with Karl and make a horse movie - Karl did a lot of riding in LOTR. Actually so did Viggo Mortensen...

Now there's a triumverate I would love to watch!

Hmmmm...

COWBOYS!
Karl, Bruce, and Viggo in a remake of "Silverado"?

Karl in Kevin Costner's role as the young, but plucky cowboy.

Bruce , as Karl's older bro', the wizened gunslinger, done so well by Scott Glenn.

Viggo, doing Kevin Kline proud as the hired muscle/bar manager with a heart of gold.

Fast work then - finding the best thread on the board :)

Leah - look through the thread, plenty of photos of our man Karl with dark hair for you to enjoy!

Okay, I know that this is way off the Karl topic, but this reminds me that I absolutely loved Viggo in the recent movie "Appaloosa," with Ed Harris. It's really the first thing I've ever seen him in, because I've never seen the LOTR trilogy (but will correct that soon of course). My sister dragged me to it because Viggo's her man, and he was like the Best Deputy EVER. Excellent movie, highly recommended for his portrayal alone.

Back on topic...what've I got...oh, I know! I watched a couple episodes of ST TOS yesterday--"The Corbomite Maneuver" and "Mirror, Mirror," and I have to say, more than ever I'm impressed with Karl's portrayal in the movie. To the people that keep calling his performance an "impression," I say to them pish-tosh--more like he was inspired by DeForest Kelley, took a couple of cues, and made it his own. He did such a good job, and I now know McCoy simply has to be a larger part of ST XII or I'm going to California to have words with the screenwriters. The interaction between Kirk, McCoy, and Spock is just so awesome in TOS. McCoy could (and did) say to Kirk anything he damn well pleased, and it was fun to imagine our nuMcCoy in the mirror universe (made easier thanks to that photo manip from SalvorHardin, I think it was?).

Last, welcome, LeahBoBo! As a recent newbie here myself, I can confirm that this is definitely the friendliest (and perviest, but in a great way) thread on the board!
