Yes. But let's start hating it now and skip right to the good part of fans responding to Trek films.Boldly going... by giving us a plot we've had a dozen times before in the franchise.
I still don't believe for a second this project will get produced, just like the litany of shelved scripts over the past decade.

To each their own. Absolutely nothing about that proposal seems even remotely interesting to me. "Political Thriller" is absolutely the last kind of story I want to see in Star Trek. This is surprisingly promising. Something like this could be easily done for under $100 million. They're (hopefully) taking the "Hunt for Red October was the best Star Trek movie ever made" approach... grounded, a political thriller, willing to appeal to a specific audience and not something workshopped to death to have mass appeal for the summer blockbuster popcorn crowd...
It's also a sign that Goldstein and Daley were hired for having a good take on Star Trek that impressed Ellison, instead of being brought in to put a comedy spin on Star Trek like their prior films. Their most recent film was a Skydance production for Apple TV... an action comedy called Mayday that premieres later this week.
And it sounds like they want to cast a Denzel Washington-type...
Meanwhile, Training Day is streaming on Roku TV in the US, with Crimson Tide on Prime Video.
I mean… it’s fine, but we’ve been here rather a number of times by now, haven’t we?
There were always better ways to go about bring back George Kirk without undermining the sacrifice. i.e he crosses over from the Prime Universe in the 2250s to the Kelvinverse while captaining the Kelvin, mirror George Kirk, Korby builds a George Kirk android, Admiral Marcus stole his DNA and grew an Augment clone of him in a Section 31 lab. After reading the plot synopsis, George Kirk is found the the Kelvin's pattern buffer after a last-second beam out, I think we dodged a bullet. It undermines the whole sacrifice at the start of the first film.

It's not science fiction at all. It falls entirely into the political thriller/suspense/mystery category, and is a lame mystery that's not particularly suspenseful or thrilling.Villains trying to sabotage a peace treaty between humans (well the Federation) and klingons is at least a decent sci-fi storyline.
Yeah, reading that gave a distinct sense of "we've been here before".
Dadmiral April.Love Dadmiral Vance.

Sadly, we've been everywhere before...
Which is why I won't begrudge them Muppets.
We still haven't seen Trek do a marionette episode.
What's worse than moron-ifying Trek by making it a stupid GoTG-inspired farce?
