Probably isn't true, but it's a neat premise.

Filoni doing the first episode says to me that he's at least partly there to help set the tone (directorially speaking) so the odds of a cameo from either Sabine or Ahsoka seems very unlikely. I'm a little surprised Favreau himself isn't directing at least the premier episode, given the nature of his involvement.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be directing, just that it's interesting that he's doing the premier and not Favreau, since 1) Favreau is writing the whole thing and 2) Favreau is an accomplished movie director. To my knowledge, Filioni has never directed live action (yes I know he was taught by Lucas & there's a lot of skill overlap, but still...) so to trust him with this says that LF has a *lot* of faith in his abilities, which is encouraging if we ever want to see what he can do with a feature length movie.

It could be kind of cool to get some of the voice actors to do live action roles on the show playing different characters.

Maybe he was to busy with Avengers 4 and/or The Lion King to be able to direct? Would those have overlapped with this?

Interesting how most of these (including Favreau himself of course) seem to be either actors who direct or directors who act. Not sure what (if anything) to read into that, but there it is.
