I saw a wild rumour that the story will be about the Mandalorians after ROTJ.

Probably isn't true, but it's a neat premise.

I wonder if they can reuse of lot of it for later shows to mitigate the costs later on.

For $100M, I sure hope the show is about something that appeals to more than a small corner of Wars fandom.

I wouldn't mind Mandalorians being touched upon, or even the inclusion of a Mandalorian character, but I wouldn't want the show to be about them.

It's nice to know they are willing to spend the money necessary to recreate the feel of the movies.

Why not bring in the other Jon Favreau? He's a better writer.

However, Iger also stated they were not cancelling projects, just slowing down on their timing.

I believe he meant the movies, not the already-announced TV projects.

Given Kennedy's very modest contract extension (only three years, with only Ep. IX and Indy 5 announced as movies that are definitely happening), it's possible he meant the top Disney brass would be making the next three years a retirement tour for her, and carefully supervising the next LFL leader as the post-Episode movies take shape. Or, it could mean they intend on supervising Kennedy more closely, to see whether they want to retain her post-2021.

We still need to see what films they intend to come out with in 2020 and 2021, since we only know of 2019's Episode IX for sure.

^ There almost certainly won't be a Star Wars movie released in 2020; we'd have heard about one being greenlit by now. I imagine Disney will want one in 2021, but that's speculation at this point.

After all Disney has dealt with you think we'd have heard about it? I highly doubt it. Bob Iger is probably playing it closer to the vest.
