Has it been announced when the Disney streaming service is launching?
They've been filming for weeks now.
Though if he's in the armour most of the time they can just dub him in later and have a double in the armour.
Sometime in 2019.
Reports this morning said that Pedro Pascal was in talks for the role, this new report from Variety says that he has signed on the dotted line.
An io9 commenter makes a decent point:
That said, Pascal is awesome in Narcos, so I'm not complaining.
‘The Mandalorian’: Gina Carano Joins Cast Of Disney+’s ‘Star Wars’ Series
Nick Nolte cast in The Mandalorian
Wow, that's not a name I expected too see.
Lucasfilm is pleased to announce the cast of the first-ever Star Wars live-action series — The Mandalorian.
Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Affliction).
Been rumoured for a couple months now, nice to have an official announcement.
That is a hell of a cast. Have they said if this is closer to Return of The Jedi or The Force Awakens? I'm just wondering if were to get movie character appearances if they're more likely to be Original or Sequel Trilogy characters.

OK thanks. So in that case we're probably not going to be seeing people like Phasma, or Poe.
7 years would work for using certain Rebels characters.
Poe would be like 10 or something years old.
Its a big galaxy....even when it isn't. Though I highly expect a kind of spaghetti western feel to this show. I's almost expect the music to follow those sorts of films style from time to time.
