JJA says he's sticking to canon, so...

Hasn't he also said something to the effect he hopes his film will be seen by people with no prior knowledge of the show?

So maybe you should induce amnesia and try to forget everything you ever knew about Star Trek.
Star what?

Wars. It's this funny movie with muppets and psychic powers and laser swords. It's cute, you should check it out some time.

Sounds like a kiddie show to me.

I don't carer so much anymore is Star Trek XI will be cannon or not, just if its going to be good or not.

A non canon Star Trek movie/series will never be a good Star Trek movie/series. Just look what happened to Nemesis and Enterprise!

Though Enterprise wasn't such a bad show, it simply didn't fit into Star Trek canon! That's why it's considered a bad Star Trek show!

If you want to throw Star Trek canon out the window, then why bother with a new Star Trek movie at all? You could just as well go and see another movie.

NEM failed because it was non canon? Please explain.

On the contrary, ENT was a BORING show, with dull characters and and uninteresting story lines. That's why it failed.

I think that if had stuck to canon a little more, it would have been more successfull within Trekdom. Lore instead of B4 and Tomalok instead of Shinzon, Worf still being an Ambassador ... it would have made a much better movie.

I never thought of Enterprise as a bad show, especially season three was very good. It just didn't fit into Star Trek history, that's why most fans hated it. Not even non fans bought it that this was supposed to take please a hundred years before TOS. Had they made it a different show, with no connection at all to Star Trek, it would have been more successful. Hell, it's still way better than Stargate!

Nuh uh! it would've had some different people saying the same sucky dialog under the direction of incompetence. See! It would've been very, very different...
