I just learned that the French series of unlicenced Conan adaptations (because there are a few REH stories are in the public domain now) have begun being published in the US by the publisher
ABLAZE. They go by "Cimmerian" instead of "Conan", as that would go against trademark.
The first mini-series (two-parters breaking apart the original French GNs) is "Queen of the Black Coast" and the first issue is apparently already out. Also has some sweet variant covers, so even though I already have the German editions, I'll pick up the ones with cool covers. "Red Nails" is already solicited.
I highly recommend those. They are adaptations of the original Robert E. Howard stories by different writers and artists from Europe, definitely for mature readers.
Especially I suggest you look out for "The Frost-Giant's Daughter", which has already been published in German, and let me tell you, it's one of the best Conan comics ever. The writer/artist Robin Recht went even further than Howard, showing more realistic behaviour in regards to violence and sexuality, expands on the story to also include the background of Ymir, the Frost-Giant, and his creation myth, and not least, the art is simply stunning.
