Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

only 39? XD

i open my cinema 4d projects folders and i... am not sure how many i would consider finished. even the ones i put a pin in are more in stasis, waiting for me to look at them again and realize i need to do something else to them. i've been working on this one ship from halo since 2011...

there's certainly a bunch where i said "i have achieved the goal othat was set", mainly ones i did for a discord server's challenges, but i still poke and prod at some of those.
That's just 3D, then there's my unfinished art projects and writing projects.

But ho-hum, here it's 3D stuff, specifically Trek.

Okay, some of you may not have thought about the differences between the in universe Enterprise-C, and the Probert's Enterprise-C...

At least not in depth.

The Enterprise-C ad depicted in 'Yesterday's Enterprise', was a down and fast build. Therefore very Industrial in nature. Like the Borg cube is completely Industrial - no grace at all, just a petroleum refinery...

In other words the depicted has problems. It is like the Borg trying to channel the Art of Federation design...

Now about the word 'metaphor' see the immediate paragraph above. It is making a comparison between two unlike things to make a point.

Jayru, does wonderful work. I wasn't criticizing him.

Nor was I criticizing the Light Works...

Just noticing that if in the real world Probert's Enterprise-C should actually work better.

Just a quick FYI, I never thought for a second you were criticising me. So no worries ;-)

One of my thoughts is what would have happened if twenty-four plus Ptolomy class transport-tugs , with colonization equipment showed up in Battlestar Galactica 2003...

Consider that the Ptolomy would have the same arrangement of Shuttlecraft hangars as the Saladin class Booklet of General Plans way back in 1980...

Let's see. Double the number of passengers, 1,000 versus 500...

This would form a significant increase in the probability of survival of the human species.

Phasers...the senior Captain would describe the Ptolomy's lightly armed...

But able to destroy any ship that the Colonials would know.

Given Trek ships have an FTL system called Warp Drive, and the BSG ships could only "jump", the Trek ships would be able to outrun any other ship, just by jumping to warp 1, plus they have shields, another things that didn't exist in the BSG universe. So I would say they would have a tactical advantage.

I have put a hanger bay on the Ptolomy and Saladin, I built it into the deck 2/3 structure at the back.

More soon.
