Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

Probert designed the Enterprise-D/Galaxy Class, as well as the type 7 shuttle used in early TNG. He also picked and made the models that went on the conference room wall, designing the silhouette of the Enterprise-C and is responsible for the Enterprise-B being an Excelsior Class.

Eaves was responsible for the changes made to the Excelsior to make her the Ent-B and has been the primary designer since (such as the Ent-E).

Eaves has only started thinking practically in terms of design in the last decade when it comes to Trek. Ent-B and E were purely designed based on look, not function.

I do really wish they had stuck with a more traditional Excelsior design for the E-B, making it match the conference room models more. But I guess the shit was already out of the horse with that one when they went with the Ambassador style for Yesterday's Enterprise instead of the original Probert design, so

As I said, the history behind the Ent-C is quite sad. The FX team were forced to rush the model, never really finished it. Although all this talk about it is making me itch to have a go. Must resist, my ADHD is winning a lot of battles recently and keeping me from finishing things.

If you can, try to get in touch with your inner OCD. I've seen you use it with the brilliant detail you put into these models - you definitely have it. Let it cancel out the ADHD and bring balance to your world.

That's probably not how it works, but it's worth a shot anyway... :)

Life is being a bitch at the moment, hence why I am all over the place with projects (3D, written, art)... Lack of focus is a real issue. Autism can mean I hyper focus on stuff - which you have all seen, but ADHD can make me as scatty as hell. I go through this, the wheel turns and Autism will win out again for a time.

You know something? This is industrial design...

More, metaphorically Borg, than the Probert's.

Dr Daniel Jackson, while drunk on the power of Ascension, changes the Voyager into the the Probert version of the Ambassador class...

After all, an Ascended human can, in a split second create an entire Galaxy...

:wtf:

not even one skylight, as a treat? :wah:
I'd love to see some of those rooms on screen - you know, the ones with ceiling windows.

Ok... I am trying to keep to the on-screen essence of the ship without making a new ship class. I may have a go at the original design after (I may have already opened the file - we shall see).

Umm, dude, I cannot see your images. imagur banned the UK rather than remove the child porn on the site. I use ImageChest now.

More soon.

Anyone ever do both Enterprise-C and Zhukov both in CGI?

The shuttlebay and nacelle height are the biggest differences.

Eaglemoss' small version has a flatter saucer which I adore.

I'm doing a merged version of the two, taking the best of both.

Man, this is absolutely amazing!!
Just curious, what is one Star Trek ship you'd love to make a mesh of one day?
That's an interesting question. Most of the ships I've done are the ships I like. But I suppose it would be nice to do some Klingon and Romulan ships - TOS ones that is. I've done a TMP era Bird of Prey, which I haven't made that much of a big deal of (and should). This is something I'm going to think on. Good question.

In terms of the audit I am doing on my 3D Trek work, I have a "little" issue: I have 17 unfinished projects. This is not acceptable. I got good at finishing things; it soothed my autistic side and even my ADHD. So I am going to finish a few of them off. Yes, I am a little all over the place at the moment. Between my health, mum-in-law's failing health, and having to sue the builder for breach of contract... Life is fun at the moment - hence why I am not at this every day. I was surprised when I opened the TOS Connie file, and found I'd restarted that one for some reason (I think I was trying to make it more screen accurate), so I have been beavering away to get that done (as that unlocks a few other ships for me, like the Saladin Class).

Thanks to imagur blocking the UK, it's hard to look back and see what I've done, so I'll be looking to add some archive images as well to keep things fresh.
