Jayru (JSnaith's) 3D Trek

Went back to an older project and did some remedial work on it, the USS Ranger NCC-21179-A. She's been fully retextured with updated maps, some errors have been fixed, and the deflector dish rebuilt. As per the original, she still retains the shuttle bays and shuttles I built for her:

I may, someday, get around to sorting out the saucer sep business. But for now, I'm happy with her.

More soon.
Good god man you not only do TMP but TNG also??? She's beautiful! She looks like a variant take on the Probert Ambassador class with your own flair.

Some thoughts on the USS Nelson NCC-3114;

  • She's not a one-for-one of the Trafalgar Class, which has some design issues (hence why I made changes).
  • She's a big ship - bigger than an Excelsior, and better laid out in some respects. The Intermix Shaft sits very within the hull, as do the rest of the components.
  • The nacelles are experimental, possibly another dip into the Transwarp Project on Starfleet's part? I think yes, this is another dive into transwarp, hence the radically different nacelles.
  • She shares some design cues with the Excelsior, but she is her own thing.
  • I see this ship as a very late 23rd Century, very early 24th century starship - but still a TMP era ship.
More as and when I think of it, and more on the model as and when I get the chance to work on it.

The U. S. S. Constitution is an active navel ship. That is, she is still in commission. Every July 4th, she is taken out of the Boston Harbor, and turned around, then redocked, after giving a 21 gun salute.

What she needs is a fully trained crew...

Unfortunately modern weapons would blow her to splinters.

A good series of novels about tall ships, is by David Weber, 'The Safehold'.
