That's both Shuttle-bays now done, just need a lighting rig for the ship proper, a few texture map tweaks, and the all important shuttles and this one is done!

Comments and the like welcome, more soon :-)

Your rear view (which is beautifully done as usual, BTW) quite elegantly and simply solved a major problem that I am reminded the original Ambassador design suffered from. When the saucer needs to emergency separate from the engineering hull, how does it rapidly push away without any impulse engines? You gave your saucer impulse engines, as it sould be. Well done! :)

Thank you! The Ranger Class is supposed to sit between the Ambassador and Galaxy Classes, bridging the design ethos between them. In my mind's eye, I see the Ranger Class as a limited run to test bed systems that would end up in the future Galaxy Class, sort of a 2350's ship.

Looking awesome! :mallory::techman:
Thank you!

Updates - first pass at a shuttle idea -

Yes, I know - I've reused the body of the movie era shuttle I built, but hear me out; this class sits between the two eras, bridging the gap between what was, and what we know will be. As such, I've shortened the length of the hull, added new nacelles and a new pylon and have plans to change the livery on it to be more in line with TNG.

Plus, as I say, this is a first pass. Something may come to mind which is better suited :-)

More later :-)

Does look like a nice zoomaround for the weekends. :D:bolian:
Thank you! (Screaming kids included at your own risk).

You gave the slab-sided thing a badly needed face-lift.

The shuttle…like the ship…points to a more organic design ethos.
As I say, it sits between the movie ethos and the TMP ethos :-)

I've built three shuttles for the Ranger so far. I imagine she carries more, but for the purposes of this, three is fine :-). The shuttles are "Buck", "Wilma", and "Twiki" - and if you can figure out why that goes with Ranger, then you are a child of the 1970's, lol.

Comments welcome, more soon!

Aside from a few more beauty renders, this marks the end point of Ranger-A project. It is the biggest, and most complex, model I have built yet.

For the future? I'm thinking something Luna-esq/Titan-esq. But we shall see. As I say, I'm going to have a break before I burn out. So, comments welcome :-) and more soon!

Liking the start of this. It has a Titan / Intrepid hybrid feel to it.
It's "inspired" by the Titan Class in Star Trek Online. It's an ok design (nice ship to fly), but it has some issues. I think they scaled it too small. BUT that's my opinion. I'm going to do my own, and see where it takes me :-)

Snuck in a bit more work on the study model before I handed over my drive (which enforces down time, need to let my brain cool off, lol). This is what I will come back to and hit the ground running with -

Of course, being as study model it doesn't mean that anything is final, and most of this will be refined and rebuilt. That's how I work. But it's as good as a method as any.

Anyway, off to enjoy my holiday. Keep well, stay safe, and see you all soon!
