I was waiting for someone to get back to me, but it's been almost a month and I want to finish this baby -

This is a fascinating configuration for a Federation ship. It reminds me of the Intrepid from Picard season 3, in that you've got all the familiar elements, but they're put together in a new way. That Excelsior-type secondary hull is well suited for mounting a neck further aft; I really like that feature. The only thing that I'm not so fond of is the tallness of the nacelles, which I think somewhat throws the balance of the ship off, particularly from a side angle. But in the main, I really like this design; it's doing something different and it works!

Thank you - I was waiting for someone to contact me re the Pathfinder, but alas, no. So I carried on. I gave it nearly a month. I may have been working on something not Trek related in the interim, lol

A ship design by Tom Sutton for the old comics. This was my starting point :-) And I decided to echo and honour the original shape. No, it's not a perfect design, but it is interesting :-)

Back to the Ranger Class -

I've figured out what was bugging me, and why I couldn't press on ahead -

It's the "pinched" in bit on the secondary hull, it doesn't sit right with me, so I'm going to rework the secondary hull so it tapers more at the end, but doesn't have that pinch in it.

More on this later :-)

New shaped secondary hull -

Longer than the original, but not as wide. Same height (so it keeps to the deck layout I have for this one). More workable :-)
