I've got some time on the big rig today, so I shall what it looks like without them, but I'm leaning more towards keeping them.D'oh! Yeah sorry, I meant without the fins!
Yes. When Probert originally designed the Ambassador Class he blended TMP era and TNG era design elements - it's a ship that sits between those two eras, rather than strictly being a TNG ship. The Ambassador as originally designed has an Impulse Deflection Crystal. Is that a shuttlebay in front of the impulse deflection crystal dome?

I'll see what I can do, but we all have to remember this came before the Galaxy Class, not after ;-)It feels a little too squared up to me. Maybe something more rounded like the D's impulse engines on the saucer? Not saying all the way, but taper what you have looking straight on. the sides look great.

But it does have the best side view.It feels a little too squared up to me. Maybe something more rounded like the D's impulse engines on the saucer? Not saying all the way, but taper what you have looking straight on. the sides look great.
