I love the Discovery, and the Raleigh has every right to call itself a sister-ship. Your adjustments make sense, and you'd really have to look for what you changed. Which is a complement, because it means it is still recognizable and compliments what we saw.
Thank you
It's hard when there's not a lot of ref material publicly available. The
Raleigh is a Crossfield Refit, but it's
not the
Discovery. I grabbed what I could screen wise from the show and from the model used in STO - although there are differences between the two. No doubt due to the game model having to be lower detail than the show model.
But, looking at the various 32c Starfleet ships they are spartan on detail. That doesn't mean they were done on the cheap, or low detail because it was easy. Looking at the
USS Voyager-J, the
USS Le Guin, and the new
Constitution Class - they are not simple designs put together as after thoughts. They have a different sort of complexity in style and ethos. I'm looking forward to imparting some of those ideas into the
Sulu Class
USS Excelsior NCC-322000.
Taking stock; a quick look tells me I've done 16 different models Trek wise, with one pending. TMP -
Excelsior, McCaffrey, Oberth, Odysseus, Oldfield, Sutton. TNG -
Ambassador, Delphis, Ranger, Windrunner. DSC32c -
Crossfield Refit, Sulu (pending)
. Shuttles - 3
TMP Types, 2
TNG Types. I've got a further 3 study models (
Titan,
Dauntless, Nova). That's just the Trek work. On top of that I have four projects of ideas of my own, ranging from a cargo ship and it's shuttle, a flying saucer (with a full interior), a folding winged stealth ship, and a fixed wing bio-ship. This is all since April 2022.
I'm
not in danger of burn out

. I should be, lol, but at the moment things are good

. It is something I need to be mindful of with the autism. I think... The
Sulu Class is my next project, and then I am going to take a proper break for a few weeks. Maybe take December off. Come back in the new year and tackle some other ships and ideas that have been suggested

My therapist has suggested I start a blog where I can put all my work, Trek and non-Trek. But I don't want to divide my attention too much. I'm fine here, you guys and gals are cool.
Anyways, waffling again. Time to shut down for a few hours, read a book and relax. More tomorrow
