I thought it showed. In season four. But it worked in their favor. Their energy of conflict worked those argument scenes.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I like Janeway's death-glare to Seven in "In The Flesh"; the hate was strong in Mulgrew that day, methinks.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Well now it's been published on TrekCore so Mulgrew, you better get another damage control speech nd squeeze out some tears you'll be reliving this at next years cons. To speak trek "All hands, brace for impact!"

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

eh it's been around for years. Someone asked her about it at the con I saw her at and boy did she let them have it. It went like this..

Dick in audience: I heard a rumor, and I don't think it's true, but I've heard it so I thought I would ask about it though I don't think it's true [endless waffle] that you had a lot of friction with Jeri Ryan and didn't like her when she joined the cast.

KM paces back and forth across the length of the stage with this building up death glare.. in the absolute silence. Then she fixes her stare on the questioner.

KM: Well I think you DO think it is true because otherwise you would not have asked it.

(This is said in a tone.. like the principal uses when you are dragged to their office.)

More pacing follows.

Then KM launches into all her reasons for not liking the sex babe introduction to the show, how she felt it eroded the series and undercut the advance of having a female captain. She went on to say that Jeri Ryan was a great actress and the character became very well developed and a huge positive. She said she had nothing against Jeri, just against the sex symbol character introduction on the part of the powers that be.

Obviously this is paraphrase from a few years back but my quote is pretty accurate. But she did not admit to any bad behavior OR say anything negative about Jeri at all. As far as I can tell she has never said anything negative about Jeri, which regardless of how she behaved decades ago is at least classy enough today.

Responding to the posts up thread re: Mulgrew being a diva on OitNB and supposedly lending credence to the theory that Kate truly IS evil incarnate...

The actress who plays Maria Ruiz, the pregnant lady in season 1, commented on the KM diva story last May on her facebook page.

Jessica Pimentel commented on an article.

This is complete garbage and a lie. I am on this show. Kate is a professional in every way and has been around longer than anyone on the cast and it shows. She gets and earns my complete respect. Watching her work is a master class each day.

As for her treatment of Jeri Ryan 1997-1999 (when the Braga relationship reportedly started) it shows that none of us (except Teacake) are without sin. To continue to vilify Kate 15 years later seems a tad excessive.

The storyline that I most respond to is redemption, which is probably one of the reasons I love the Seven character on Voyager and the Xena character on XWP and the Regina character on OUaT and just about every freaking character on OitNB, EXCEPT VEE! She's frakking EVIL!!!

Lets at least consider that as she matured even an insecure Kate learned from past mistakes... and moved on.

Continue to vilify?

I only noticed this story maybe 2 years ago.

And very little information has been quickly forthcoming

It's still brand new to me.

If others out of some sense of good manners have been sitting on a complete dossier of this gossip reinforcing my ignorance, well bully to them.

Who likes MTV's faking It?

A misunderstanding causes two wallflower nobodies into coming out as lesbians, and therefore popular highschool celebrities. They have to maintain this ruse as long as possible to keep their new status as a super cool power couple.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I think Jeri took it upon herself to assume it was about her rather than asking for clarification and setting boundaries if necessary. Mulgrew's behavior according to Jeri's transcript here reads more passive aggressive to TPTB.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I don't get why actors keep talking about their complaints with specific people decades later. It makes them look bad a lot of the time.

Remember that scene in JFK?

"The CIA has classified their involvement in the events of the 22nd of November 1963, and will remain classified for the next 75 years, so I have told my son to live a healthy long life, so that in 75 years he can walk into the state building and ask for a copy of those files that I am not allowed to read today."

(Or words to that effect.)

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

2038 is doable for us?

Can you get to 2038?

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

The CIA will be targeting anyone who answers.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

You're just upset that 2028 seems exhausting.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

At this point, Friday is exhausting and that's just a day after tomorrow.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Just remember that today is Wednesday, and Wednesday is Hump Day, so all of you who are able should get out there and hump.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I intend to be here in 24 years. I WILL HAVE MY JFK SECRETS!!

49 years from now for First Contact with the Vulcans is pushing it though

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

You should be able to buy time in medical stasis soon, which will allow the well off to skip unpleasant looking decades without losing any time against their life expectancy.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

The key being, "the well off" - something which probably doesn't apply to the majority of the BBSers.

But would they wake up on Earth or out in space, looking at the Captain of a starship who is quite annoyed that his crew bothered to take a few minutes to rescue you?

For some people every day is Hump Day...

...I'm not one of those people, though. :sigh:
