"It's getting hot!"

"Galileo Seven" just started a few minutes ago on my local station. (Sports tonight, so no early showing.)

I'm trying to stay up to see if they edit out the "It's getting hot!" line (which I'll ALWAYS remember), but it's late.

May have to watch it tomorrow. (I'm recording it...of course. :D )

i liked the bantor between boma and spock...

Spock's intellectual curiosity line what happened to mr lattimer...when he got a spear ran through him.

Man that was COLLLLD....

Isn't a "bantor" a creature Luke Skywalker fought in Return of the Jedi? LOL

Unless, of course, you mean "banter".

Yeah, great observation by the yeoman-of-the-week. The shuttle is burning up around them and everyone is drenched in sweat.

MEARS: "It's getting hot".
SCOTTY: "Ya think?"
McCOY: "You're hot."
BOMA: "This would never have happened if Spock would have let us give Latimer and Gaetano a decent burial!"
SPOCK, thinking: "I could either jettison the fuel and ignite it, or kick that mouthy little prick out the airlock..."

Maybe that line was inserted to educate the 1960's audience about the dangers of an uncontrolled re-entry.

On the other hand, it's no worse than "Captain...I'm frightened."

The sweat is pouring off them and she says "It's getting hot"??!!
Easily in the top 10 worst lines in Trek.

"Captain, I'm frightened" doesn't hold a candle...

Although, were she to take off her clothes and start grinding on McCoy or Scotty, we might think it the best line in Trek.

What was that about "uncontrolled re-entry"? :D

I wish I had a dime for every time some joker in Iraq or Kuwait would chime in with "It's warm today" or "Another hot one" or "It's getting hot, dont'cha think?". Having the crewman deliver that banality rings pretty true with me, the only thing missing was the "No sh*t, Sherlock" response.

Although Boma did look at her intently after she delivered that line as if 'I'm not going with copping a feel'.

Here's a trivial fact:

Phyllis Douglas (Yeoman Mears) portrayed the child of Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler, Bonnie Blue Butler, in 'Gone With the Wind' when she was three years old.

****

Mears: It's getting hot!
Scotty: Yes you are.

"I don't mean to sound forward, but I don't think we're going to live through this, and I've never been with a man before . . ."
