It's a Female!

Congrats Saratoga. I'll admit that I too was slightly disappointed to find out I was having a daughter during an ultrasound. That minor disappointment went away about a second after she was born. Kids, especially daughters, are wonderful.

If this is your first baby (which it sounds like it is), here's some words of warning. The first week, maybe two, are hell (no sleep, schedule out of whack, stress of caring for the new baby, etc...). Take a few weeks off from work if you can. After that you and your wife will adjust and things get a little easier.

Saratoga, as a father of a boy and 2 girls, it doesn't matter if you have a boy or a girl. All that matters is a healthy baby and mom.

Congrats, and enjoy the roller coaster!

Remember, there is a reason why God makes babies cute.

News flash. Wife was having pains this morning at 5am, took her to the hosptial, she was Pre-eclampsia, 5 hours later at 10:09 Ava Quin was born at exactly 32 weeks. she was 3 lbs and 3 ozs, and both mom and baby are doing great.

She was delivered C-Sectoin, and since my wife was fully knocked out, i sat outisde the room. Twenty minutes later I heard a baby crying and I started bawling.

It's been a whirlwind of a day, but my little girl is here, a bit early, but healthy and just in time for x-mas

Well, that happened quickly! Congrats. Always good to hear that everyone is healthy.

Post pics in 3 weeks when she stops looking like a lizard. Newborns are weird-lookin'. :p

I always wanted a girl and got one. Amelia will be 8 months at Christmas. She's such a cutie.

Don't knock girls, they are better than boys in many respects.

Well, until they turn 13 and hate you for everything.

Congrats, Saratoga. I may not be a dad, but I am an uncle, and I have watched a niece and three nephews grow up. You are in for a treat. (Glad to hear that Ava's doing well...but isn't 3 lbs. a bit on the small side for a newborn?)

Also: In the delivery room, was there a machine that goes PING? ;)

Oh my goodness!

Congratulatios Saratoga!

I am so pleased everyone is healthy. I hope Ava goes from strength to strength! I'll keep her in my thoughts.

It was just a scan, not the birth. They can put on a lot of weight in the final two months.

And when I had Amelia there wasn't any machine that went PING. I was most disappointed. Was gonna make the noise in the background meself but the wife's expression made me stop that.

So my wife, who is seven months pregnant, finally had her ultra sound today. And it's a little girl. I admit I was a little dissapointed, but I think it will be all right. I'm sure I'll be paid back for every horrible thing I ever did to women in my younger days.

Congratulations, dude. :techman:

As for payback: You can do the same. When your daughter brings a boyfriend home, you can just happen to be sitting there cleaning your gun. Chalk outlines on the front porch might also work.

So will hanging a couple of used shooting range targets on the porch where he can see them....

Congrats on the baby man. Do they think there are going to be any repercussions from the very premature birth? How's Mom?

She's 7 weeks premature. BUt breathing on her own, no problems seen yet

That's early alright... but the weight and her breathing on her own are GOOD signs that this little girls is strong. You better watch out, because when she's old enough to talk and walk sounds to me like she will be asserting her authority completely!

Congratulations! :bolian:

Thirty-two weeks is a decent gestational age. I've seen them born a lot earlier and do fine. I wouldn't worry. :)

Congratulations again!
