Is SNW getting too goofy?

Is this similar to how it's perfectly acceptable to wish death upon a television producer, as long as it's online?

Asking for a friend.
Depends on which message board you're on and will they accept your wish.

Different message boards have different standards.

This one seems to not like it, while other Trek Message Boards might be more amenable to your wish.

You seem to be focused on the fact that I took a screen shot from "The Ready Room" interview.

That wasn't what I cared about, I cared more about the aesthetic hair style decision

Yes, that is the problem.

She obviously has the potential, but the hair cut / style that the staff chose, it's not up to her best look IMO.

Yes, you have made it very clear that you consider Ms. Navia's fuckability score to be more important than demonstrating respect for her as a person.

Yes, that is the problem.
People caring about a actors look is a problem now?

So I can't care about a actors look now?
Just because I care about the aesthitic doesn't mean I don't respect her as a person.

One doesn't imply the other, you're just jumping to conclusions based on your own bias about the subject matter.

While Ortegas isn’t as beautiful a character as Melissa Navia is a person, that’s a good choice for her character. Ortegas can’t be bothered to sit in front of a makeup mirror before she goes to work. Or when she goes to the lounge. Like her as is or move along, pal.
It would be kind of stupid for the hot shot pilot to be trying to look sexy while she’s on duty. Let the woman be a professional.
I’ve never wondered if my pilot had a sick fade or was wearing enough eyeliner.

1) Talking about a woman as though she has some obligation to be visually pleasing is not the behavior of someone who respects her as a person.

2) Reacting to an interview about her losing the love of her life by rambling on about how she could be hotter is not the behavior of someone who respects her as a person.

These two reactions both preclude respecting her as a person.

Guess what, many people will objectify every single actor on the show they watch.
Hollywood is all about visual appeal, and it sells.
It's all about the beautiful people on screen.
You normally don't find average or ugly people on TV/movies for a reason.
Doesn't really matter if it's men or women.
Looks sell.
This is one of the best looking casts in quite a while.
Everybody looks that damn good.

That's your PoV, you're entitled to hold that as your personal PoV.
Doesn't really matter how you perceive it since my opinion is my own and I'll be caring about the aesthetic of EVERY single actor and character on the show, main cast or guest member.

Doesn't really matter, all the guys, all the gals, they are all going to be inspected and judged equally.

Says you and your personal moral code / standards.
Don't try to force your values on somebody else, everybody is going to operate differently.
Your PoV isn't absolute, or some standard we should all follow.
It's just your PoV, we all have one, we all do things differently.
You're going to have to get used to a world with people with widely different ways of doing things.

Just because I care about aesthetics doesn't mean I don't respect a person.
You don't get to be the arbiter of if my actions are respectful or not because I operate differently from you.
So you're going to have to get over the fact that we do things differently.

Lotta words to rationalize incredible amounts of disrespect.

Lotta words to rationalize incredible amounts of disrespect.
You do you, go ahead and be judgemental, that's what you seem to like to do.
The rest of us will go and do what we want.

The only disrespect I see is from you towards me over random internet comments, that isn't even about you.

You seem to feel the need to be a arbiter of morality over random comments.

You go do what you want, I'm just going to continue doing what I want.

Hopefully you don't get your panties in a twist over other random folks comments on the internet.

You're going to be very upset over every little thing and it'll be bad for you blood pressure.

You were literally being judgmental of her. She was talking about grief and losing a loved one, and you were being judgmental of her hair.
And NONE of that has ANYTHING to do with YOU!

You stuck your nose into something that has NO relation to YOU!

I was only using that screen shot because it was a good style / look to make my point.

Yes, she was talking about grief & losing a loved one.

That's all fine & good, sorry for her loss.

But that's not the topic I was discussing.

You got your panties in a twist over me talking about a different subject matter that somehow, you felt the need to feel "Offended" for somebody else, someone that will 99.99999% not give a damn over some random persons opinion on the internet.

The internet is WIDE & VAST, people are going to have all sorts of opinions.

Do you plan on interjecting on behalf of everybody else, feel offended for them, for people who will never care about how you feel about them, people who you don't know IRL or personally?

What's your long term plan, monitor everybody elses opinions and play "Morality Police"?

Go right ahead, see if anybody cares. I'm pretty sure most people won't care about your "Outrage" over somebody elses opinion that has NO relationship to YOU!

You always seem to find yourself in the position of defending some of the worst aspects of the online world.

First it was defending the behavior of those who wished death upon Alex Kurtzman, just because he's made stuff some people didn't like. That apparently it's a perfectly normal and acceptable thing to do.

Now, we have you defending the objectification of women.
