Is it still showing where YOU live?

Thought I'd bump this about to see where things stand now for people. In my city, just outside of Toronto, Trek has left the major multiplexes and as of now is only playing in the town's second-run discount theatre (which, fortunately for me, is little more than half an hour's walk from my apartment :D).

In Toronto itself, Star Trek is still playing in five theatres -- which, for a city with a population of more than 2.5 million, isn't a heck of a lot, but not too bad for a movie that's been out for over two months I suppose. In my hometown, which is about an hour's drive west of Toronto, it's not playing at all -- glad I don't live there anymore. ;)

In English, in the Montreal area, it's down to three cinemas--the downtown flagship cinema with a full slate in one theatre, and two suburban cinemas where it is sharing screen time with another movie.

I checked yesterday, and it's still playing in several theaters -- like a 30-45 minute drive away. But it hasn't played in the two multiplexes I'd been using, including the IMAX, since maybe three weeks now.

It's not playing in the cinema I usually go to ( :( ), the general Saskatoon cinema listings page hadn't updated yesterday so I don't know yet if it's playing anywhere else. I won't get to see it until next week even if it is playing, so I'll start investigating then.

Yup!!

In Indianapolis XI is still playing 4 shows daily in at least 3 multiplexes and 2 showings at one of the cafe/movie house . I still can do the $5 anytime showings (yay!) at the Kerasotes theaters, one of which is located behind my office (very dangerous). But we are off all three local IMAX screens.

Day 8 at my local IMAX, although online ticketing doesn't have anything past Sunday.

Given that the movie has been very well attended, I hope they can extend it another week, but y'never know what kind of contract Paramount had with Warner, which runs the IMAX.

If it did run another week, maybe I'd find an excuse to go see it again... :p

It's starting to disappear here...but at least it had an incredible local run based on all the crowds I saw and stories I heard.

I live in a smaller community of maybe 250,000 and we have one multiplex with 11 screens, and it is still playing on one screen 4 times a day.
Transformers has two screens.

I think that it is amazing, that in such a small community it still has that level of support to justify it staying.

There's still one screening per night at my local theater.

Checking the Hoyts website, the Broadway (city) cinema is one screening per day and the Fox Studios' Australia Entertainment Quarter (also near city) cinema also has at least one screening per day.

It's coming to Glenbrook cinema, in the lower Blue Mountains (one hour west of CBD) for a brief season 16 Jul - 22 Jul 2009.

Star Trek is alive and well at my local IMAX for another week! Yep, they renewed its run until July 19; depending on BIS, I'm thinking they might extend it further than that.

Online ticket sales for tonight's 8 p.m. showing, closed as of 7.45: 140 people... not counting walk-ins... Not too shabby for a maximum capacity of 260 or so people :)
