There are the large opera and concert hall spaces, plus two or three smaller halls all contained within the Sydney Opera House complex. I think the opera used the concert hall for performances while construction of the opera theater was being completed, or something like that. There certainly appeared to have been some differences of opinion, with most of the performers coming down on the "don't work" side. I did find a 2004 mention of an acoustical consulting firm being in negotiations for a study and analysis of the concert hall, but don't know how far forward that might have gone. I recall something similar happening with the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco -- beautiful new building, beautiful room, lousy acoustics. It took them a few years and several tries before they got it right.
