Is it still showing where YOU live?

^
Ms Vallentine said since the opera moved to another section of the building...
So, the opera moved, too.
There are the large opera and concert hall spaces, plus two or three smaller halls all contained within the Sydney Opera House complex. I think the opera used the concert hall for performances while construction of the opera theater was being completed, or something like that. I'd love to check the place out for myself some day.

Well, I also figured the rings had something to do with acoustics, but it sounds like they don't work.
There certainly appeared to have been some differences of opinion, with most of the performers coming down on the "don't work" side. I did find a 2004 mention of an acoustical consulting firm being in negotiations for a study and analysis of the concert hall, but don't know how far forward that might have gone. I recall something similar happening with the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco -- beautiful new building, beautiful room, lousy acoustics. It took them a few years and several tries before they got it right. You can see their acoustic reflectors to the left in this photo.

When it comes out on DVD, we should try to have a BBS/Lounge meetup somewhere...bring sombreros...and watch it together.:techman:

Saw it again last night at the IMAX cinema at the Museum of Civilization. I heard on the radio this morning that the run has been extended to October 1st, because they keep selling out.

And now it's showing at the Mayfair Theatre as well. Along with the "trilogy" (TWOK, TSFS & TVH).

Still in my theatre. Itwas to be here for 2 weeks but has been extended as well. I'm surprised actually.

Well the latest is through the 24th of September, after which it and Transformers will go away and Harry Potter will premiere.

Although behind the scenes they say they want to keep Star Trek too...

It's still playing on the Ontario Science Centre OMNIMAX screen in Toronto. Beyond that, there's one other theatre within 20 miles of me that is still showing it -- actually, it's kind of on the way to my new place of employment. Perhaps I'll take in a showing before my shift one of these days. ;)

Thought last night would be the last night for it in Indy, but it moved back from the south side IMAX to the NE side IMAX, so XI is still playing 2 shows daily here.

I like the south side's presentation much better, IMO the sound is better balnced and more impactful...but the one up north is OK.

Who'd a thunkit. Still on a screen in its fifth month of release.

I just checked, and our IMAX added a second showing. It was only showing at 9:40, but they added a 6:30 -- which is great, since the other one got out pretty late.

They cut into Harry Potter, which now only has two shows per day, earlier in the day.

56 reserved seats for Star Trek at the Cannery Row IMAX with 15 minutes to go before the movie starts; 19 for Transformers... :)

Well get ready for some more glee--supposedly, once Harry Potter took over this Friday, both Star Trek (9+ weeks at the IMAX) and Transformers (4-5 weeks at the IMAX) were to go bye-bye on Thursday.

Well, one of them has. Transformers.

Star Trek gets another Friday-Sunday extension given its continued ability do draw a local audience.

So, Harry Potter at 5 p.m., Star Trek at 8 p.m., the slot it held before Transformers pushed it to 6.

Now, interest may not continue, but perhaps there'll be spillover from the HP crowd, some curious emo souls might come to the light, watch Star Trek and forget to cut themselves for a while.

Too cruel? :p

Dollar took it off just when I wanted to go one more time, still in IMAX but I didn't want to spend that much money. November 17th will never get here soon enough. Between the new book and the DVD, I'd better save some cash!

I am toying with the idea of dropping in to see it one last time on the big screen; Do Star Trek related purchases count as "charitable expense"?
