Is anyone related to someone famous (or Infamous?)

I'm related to a few famous people. One is Wyatt Earp, another you can see any time you've got a $20 bill at hand. Two others are Playboy Playmates - one of whom was much more famous than the other, but is also now deceased, whereas the less famous one is not.

Another of my relatives - my paternal grandfather - was one of the survivors of the sinking of the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor.

And my mom was cellmates for a while with Susan Smith (the South Carolina woman who infamously drowned her children by backing her car into a lake and then claimed the car was stolen and her children taken by a black man). They put her in with mom because they were having a hard time finding somewhere to put her where she wouldn't get killed by the inmates, and mom had been on good behavior. Smith was so unrepentant and self-pitying that eventually mom tried to kill her, too, so they ended up separated.

My great-great-great uncle was Jefferson Davis, the first and only President of the Confederacy.

Another great great...uncle was Joseph Mohr, who wrote the words to Silent Night.

Apparently I'm related to an actor named Gerald Mohr as well, but as far as I know, I'm not related to comedian/actor Jay Mohr.

My wife is some sort of blood relative of John Dillinger.

And I get to sleep with her, so that means I'm related to John Dillinger.

Joe, FAMOUS!

According to my aunt who's a genealogy nut, our family is descended from Robert the Bruce, but since he had like a bunch of illegitimate children, a lot of people with Scottish ancestry are probably descended from him...

Yup, and quite a large proportion of the UK population also has Henry VIII and Charles II as an ancestor -- probably multiple times.

I think you are wrong about Henry VIII. His legimate children left no descendants and Henry only ever acknowledge one illegitimate child, Henry Fitzroy, who died at 17 without leaving any heirs.

It is posible, but by no means proven, that Catherine Carey (Lady Knollys) and her brother Henry, who were the children of Mary Boleyn, were the illegitimate children of Henry VIII. Catherine had 15 children and Henry has 12 legimate children and some illegimate children as well so it is safe to say that Mary Boleyn had many descendants Iincluding the Princess of Wales, Charles Darwin, Sarah the Duchess of York etc) but it can't be said for certain that any of the Carey descendants are descendants of Henry VIII.

That's to be hoped, ma cousine -- Henry VIII was a fine model of a medieval prince who degenerated into a blood-soaked, bloated tyrant.

I haven't been able to trace my ancestry, but the fact that my parents found me in a little rocket that had crashed in a field races a few questions.

Apparently I'm related to Donald and Keifer Sutherland. Something like Donald's mother was the daughter of my grandfather's brother...no wait, that's sounds closer than it is, there's another branch in there or something.
Anyway, it makes it cool when my girlfriend and I watch "24".

We are related to Peter Frampton, he is a 3rd or 4th cousin. Also my mother was on Bowling for Dollars back in the 70's, does that count?
